From the same company that makes Arches, this fine quality, warm white paper provides excellent color stability, color representation, and surface strength. A Cold Press paper, it is designed for art students and serious amateurs who are not ready for the expense of a 100% cotton professional paper such as Arches.
Use it for watercolor, acrylic, and gouache. It's also very good for pencil drawing. Canson Watercolor Paper's medium weight of 90 lb (185 gsm) is similar to a heavier drawing paper. Acid free, buffered, and resistant to mildew.

Great for Brush Lettering Class
from Houston, Texas
Comments about Canson Watercolor Paper Packs:
I bought the 100 sheet pack for an upcoming brush calligraphy class. 140 lb paper is overkill for learning brush strokes and drilling letters. Plus the fact that this is loose means I don't have to worry about extra packaging going to waste (covers and backer boards on individual pads of paper that I just throw away or recycle) and loose paper is much easier for students to use than a pad they've got to rip paper from. Very happy to have found this. Much better value than the previous sets of pads I was purchasing and I like Canson's paper quality for learning and practicing watercolor and gouache.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Thank you for providing such amazing deals for art teachers. The watercolor paper I ordered worked perfectly for the desert landscape painting I did with my third grade art students.

Great value and quality

I have used this paper for over 5 years. I draw, doodle, watercolour and paint on it. I use it to make the pages for my own art journals and I supply it to my students in my art classes. It is a great product for the price and I will continue to purchase it in the future.

I order material for the fine arts and graphic design departments at a university. I shop around for both price and quality. Blick is consistently my first choice, plus their delivery is always quick and on time. Keep up the good work, Blick.

Don't be fooled...
from NY, NY
...by this paper's low cost and modest weight! It is a fantastic product.I've been searching for large sheets of paper that I can buy in bulk without bankrupting myself, which has been nearly an impossible feat. For 50 sheets or more, even mid-range paper can get cost prohibitive, and newsprint is too flimsy, too ugly, and rarely acid-free.I purchased the Canson paper pack in 24¼ X 36, and and I'm thrilled to say, my search is over! Its value and quality are incredible for the price. Not to mention, pre-cut w/c paper at this size, by any brand, are rare. (I don't like dealing with rolls, which are unwieldy and have to be flattened out.)Since receiving it, I've thrown a lot at this paper -- dry and wet media (charcoal, pastels, watercolor, acrylic, and a range of inks), separately and combined in multiple layers -- and it's held up extremely well. Great lifting with w/c; takes vigorous erasing like a champ; and India ink doesn't bleed, and neither does the more "watery" calligraphy ink. Best of all, unlike many student papers and even some pricey rag papers, it doesn't pill--at least, not with synthetic and watercolor brushes. There is SOME buckling when I lay down a heavy wash, but the effect is pretty mild for such a lightweight paper, and especially considering I don't even tape it down! (Because of the large size, I've just held each sheet in place with 4-6 binder clips.) In short, this is a great product. I can experiment freely without worrying about costly mistakes. Hopefully, I'll get better and finally put my collection of premium papers to use. (I check on them once in a while, to caress and appreciate before putting them back.)
Great for Elementary Art
By Art Teacher
This paper worked very well for my elementary art classes. It has produced some of the best results when using salt with watercolor. This is the second time I purchased it and I will buy it again.
