I can't compare this premium oil based colored pencils with any other brands, there are unique, they are soft, smoother, creamier than any other brand, with a great color fastness, great product to add to you collection.

These pencils give real depth to the project I'm working on, which happens to be an American Flag. You may have to sharpen them a little more often, but it's definitelyd worth it.

Since I am new with oil pencils, I am still experimenting. I had hoped to be able to use them with oil paints -- especiallin signing the picture. I haven't got to that yet, but I have learned to color a picture with the pencil then take a brush dipped in Liquin and brush over the pencil marks. The colors blend and leaves a smooth, shiney surface. I love it and look forward to more experimenting.

I use oil pencils to color some of my wood burnings.I liked the Walnut Hollow pencils i used before.The Rembrandt pencils just don't work as well.

I thought they would be much easier to use than regular colored pencils and they are not. Don't see any difference than regular colored pencils. Description does not fit product. Very disappointed in usage.

I use the product to color gourds. They are very easy to use and blend nicely. I bought the middle priced set and wish I had gotten the Largest set, so I would have a wider variety of colors.

I have just begun using Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor colored pencils; so far I find them equal to Prismacolor artist grade c.p. for smoothness of application, coverage and effectiveness of colors.

In the future, I plan to use only oil based colored pencils in order to reduce or prevent wax blooming.

I do pyrographic pictures (wood burning) on "Poplar" wood & have used both acrylic paints in the past, & now the oil-based pencils to color my images. The pencils are far easier to use & provide an amazing results, plus a blending capability that is truly outstanding. Compared to what I have experienced with acrylic paints, the pencils are far superior for the type of art that I do. The only additional thing I would recommend would be to be able to purchase individual penciles.

It's hard to rate these pencils. The texture, smoothness, blending is second to none. But the colors are lurid. I bought the 36 pencil set and there's not an earth-tone in the batch. I have had them a few days now, sketching every day, and I put so much time and effort into knocking down the over-saturated colors, layering with their complements or the two neutral grays, that sketching takes forever and the result is a muddy mess. I'll keep trying them for a few more days, and see if I can order individual stock of something more desaturated, but otherwise I'm going to have to save these for sketches of carnivals and parades, and get something else for landscapes. It's a shame. The texture is so lusciously buttery, but I can't work with these colors.
