Welcome to dickblick
These pencils are brilliantly colored and can be sharpened to a very fine point with no crumbling. The firm, insoluble pigments lay down smoothly. Each pencil is hexagonal, and the wood case is color-coded.
Pencils are sold unsharpened.

I always though of buying one of this set and your deal make it possible. But the set I got have two of the same VT 79 1/2 and none of VT 79. I am not sure if you are going to change it. I got sealed and I assume that the supplier made the mistake. I cannot out a $.45 cents stamp to just have change one pencil. Anyhow overall I am happy with my set. Thanks for the deal.

Wish these were break-resistant!!
from Royal Oak, MI
I LOVE how I can get a very thin, sharp line. I use these pencils often when mixing colored pencils or even brands. Sometimes they're great for a bottom started layer and sometimes they're best as a top coat that smooths out the overall pencil texture. I really like the hexagonal shape (doesn't roll off the desk). The main problem with the Prismacolor Verithins is that they are, well, Prismacolors-- the leads break way too easily. Too often. I've tried all the techniques (microwave, freezer, ultra-gentle handling) and none help much or at all. It's a good thing they're inexpensive, since I end up buying so many of them!! I wish Prismacolor would change whatever it is that's missing in their leads and even in the wood, that make the pencils so dang breakable. Yes, I've tried many different types of sharpeners, and mainly learned all about sharpening pencils well; Prismas just are not break-resistant and it's a shame.
Nice selection of colors
This is a nice selection of bright colors plus five very thin colors for outlining. Bought it for kids in the age 10 and 11 age group.
Great pencils for detail and sharp crisp lines and edges .
from Gillette, WY
These are my GO-TO pencils when I need to be precise. They have great color lay-down and can be blended with Premiere pencils.
I used to love these pencils but a lot of times they will not sharpen. I am trying to switch to prisma color erase now. I still order them but most of the time they get eaten up in the sharpener. I even microwaved them for five seconds to try to get moisture in them. I have used a hand crank sharpener and also a handheld one hoping the pencil would sharpen. Once I called and complained and you even resent them to me for free but still would not sharpen. I love your color pencils and will ease into the color erase ones
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I will always buy this product.

These pencils save me time and money.
Prismacolr pencils are the best I use
I do color pencil drawings and have found that Prismacolor pencils are easy to use to blend and detail with.I have been using this brand for several years and will continue to use them .I have only a few of other brands.
I love these
from Victoria, Tx
Not only are these pencils awesome, dickblick has the colors individually, so I don't have to buy colors I don't need. I have tried many brands of pencils, and all I buy now is Prismacolor. The verithin allows me to accent and outline to enhance my coloring. By the way, I'm not an artist. I am an avid "colored". I especially like to do cards and such and to be able to detail them with the thin pencils gives them a professional look. I love these pencils.
Would be perfect if didn't break when sharpen
from New Jersey
Great for fine lines and tiny spaces Only downfall they break a lot when being sharpened
