Best Sketchbook I've used
from Houston, TX
These are my favorite sketchbooks to use because they're so versatile. While the paper does buckle when I use a little too much water, the warping can be easily corrected under some heavy books overnight. Not only is watercolor nice on the paper, Copics and Prismacolor are good as well. I definitely recommend this product.
great heavy duty paper
Great deal if you are looking for watercolor paper!! I used this a lot before I found my strathmore bristol. I still buy it because you get 30 sheets and my daughter's like to watercolor on this.

Work great for my Collage Journal Classes!

My only complaint is the look of the cover. I would like it to be more blank so my participants can decorate the cover.
Frontrunner for good paper at a great price!
from Salt Lake city, UT
Arches for fine art and Canson for everything else! Use their paper quite a bit and love it for fun and the price.
Purdy Much OK for Student Quality
from New Orleans
For me, as in my previous comments about this product, the point is the price. Blick has consistently made an amazing pricing deal for Canson XL pads. I get the watercolor product, and it has the advantages of being good ENOUGH that I am able to use it in an artistic ENOUGH manner that I can learn a lot from its responsiveness; but is also inexpensive ENOUGH that I don't really mind whipping through TONS of it and not trying to save paper. Paintbrush mileage thus increased! I actually went so far as to make a spreadsheet comparing total square-measurement areas of pads from several of the manufacturers of watercolor papers, from several on-line retailers, factoring in all details, including but not limited to paper-sizes and sheet-numbers per pad and binding material, did the math, and found out that area-per-price is pretty much BEST for the Blick Canson XL watercolor pads as long as you're getting them on that perpetual-sale deal 40% (or whatever it is) off that they always seem to have, even if compared to certain bulk unbound stacks of paper. You get "student" quality, don't scrub much! But it's worth it for the paintbrush mileage, in my opinion.
My Favorite Drawing Pad
By Harbor Master
This is by far my favorite drawing paper at 70 lb , tear off sheets and smooth surface it is ideal for my renderings. There are never any ragged edges and erases clean without a lot of pressure. I use 2 B and HB leads in mechanical pencils and this pad holds up to these very well.
A required purchase for my Drawing & Painting class!
from Hinesburg, Vt
I teach high school students in Drawing and Painting, and Advanced Placement Studio Art. These sketchbooks are what I STRONGLY suggest they purchase: they are durable, high quality paper that can handle just about any media we've thrown at them. I've been using these for years in my classes with excellent results, year after year. The only issue is the wire binding must be cared for by the sketchbook owner or it does pull apart... but I think it's been the kiddos using it, not the fault of the manufacturer!
