General"s Powdered Graphite
from Farmington Hills, MI
Comments about General's Powdered Graphite:
Use the product applying an area with palette knife then brushing the area or dip brush or fingers, (fingers learned to use at the end of project just for a little touch up). Love product because it covers a lot of area easier,- learned to start apply with a little first then increase for the right darkness. A little messy, if your fan was not turned off. Happy with the product, will have it for awhile. Yes, would recommend to a friend. Actually that is why I bought it a friend using it and I asked a lot of questions, she did not offer any to me, which I will do since I have a generous amount. Was anxiously to buy and use. Sharing a video or photo, not savy doing the camera, computer, photo send. Something I want to learn, to submit and enter contest.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great for adding contours in pencil drawings!
from Chicago, IL
I'll be using it for my forensic art reconstruction drawings of skulls. It can be used with a brush to establish dimension.

I use this with a chamois for large area coverage or paper stumps for small areas. Mix it as with acrylic medium and paint with it. Used this way it makes a great underpainting.
Great for Backgrounds and Effects
Use this for creating backgrounds and effects... spreads nicely and works great with eraser pencil for special effects and highlights... bottle was larger than expected and will last a long time... adheres well to all types of paper also... very happy with purchase...

I got this to help with value in drawings. I apply it with brushes and it works well. The main intent was to use in brushwork for animal pictures. I like the results from charcoal better, but will be trying it out in portraits in the future. Great stuff to experiment with. This stuff is much lighter than the charcoal powder, but it has its place in the graphite medium and I'm glad I have it. I use iton a wide variety of paper and canvas with mixed results.
will buy again when I run out

Use this to dust over a watercolor and the take some of it off with a rolled up soft eraser. The reveal is very cool, and gives a real forest feel to the painting!
