Clear-Lay, comparable to Mylar®, is a clear, archival film designed for overlays, stencils, and protective coverings. Acid-free, it contains no plasticizers and offers flatness, clarity, and dimensional stability.

This pressure-sensitive Dura-Lar product is an .005", medium weight, clear film with a permanent adhesive backing. It's ideal for use in laminating or as a protective covering. It is acid free, of archival quality, and available in sheets and rolls.

For all of its usefulness, acetate does cause a few headaches — ink that won't stay, a yellow or grayish cast to old acetate, edges that curl. The alternatives are expensive and sometimes just don't suit the purpose.
