Comments about Grafix Matte Acetate Sheets:
I had purchased this item to make a crown for my Glinda the Good Witch costume. However, the material was too thin and I couldn't use it for the purpose I intended. I ended up returning it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Acetates great for transposing shapes from paper to acetate using a pencil then placing it over damp leather using a stylus.
MATTE ACETATE/ .003ML
from Middlesex County, N.J.
I was thrilled to find matte acetate by the roll on line, as I have been looking for it for some time. I am not using the acetate for artwork overlays, but for a filtered backdrop on an open shelf where I store my cook books and favorite pottery perpendicular to a counter that houses my toaster and coffee maker. I feel that the .003 ml is too light weight for it easily tears on the edges across the cut sheet. Perhaps I should have called to see if a heavier weight is available by the roll. I am rating this average because for I don't have any other rolls to compare it too.I already used a yard and a half and the second sheet i put up is torn and taped. I will try again when I have more energy and patience, and hope that it will not tear again.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great for waterproof templates

The matte/ gloss sides work wonderfully when using them as templates. Sharpie markers flow great on the matte side. I use the acetate to make templates for my fused glass artworks. They hold up to the water which I need to diamond grind the glass edges. It is clear enough to use for tracings. There is a possibility for ripping , so you must handle it a little carefully.

great for use with chalk/pastel drawings
About Me Artist, Student
I use this product with the chalk/pastel drawings I have done. It works great between the drawing and the mat so that the chalk doesn't smear or get dusty. I like the matte finish because it makes it blend in instead of the glossy rolls. The only problem I had was that right on the end you could see lines in the sheet. Since I am only using it for temporary storage/movement of the artwork, it wasn't a problem.
