Jo Sonja's Mediums

Mediums Starter Set — Includes everything you need to assist you with your painting from start to finish. Contains mediums for surface prep, painting techniques, finishing and clean up. Includes 2 oz bottles of: APS, Clear glaze, Retarder, Magic Mix, Poly Satin Varnish, Faux Meister Brush Soap.

All Purpose Sealer — This pure acrylic coating can be used as a surface "primer" to seal a wide variety of materials (including wood, metal, and glass) and to help the paint adhere better. There is no need to seal the piece first because the sealer is mixed directly with the color, so it goes on as you add a base coat or decorate.

Clear Glazing Medium — Transform Jo Sonja's paints into transparent colors for glazing, for creating wood stains, or for special glaze painting techniques. The transparent color allows the underlying color or the woodgrain to remain visible beneath the glaze layer.

Crackle Pack — Pack contains a 2 oz bottle of crackle medium, 2 oz Décor crackle, and instructions.

Flow Medium — When mixed with Jo Sonja colors, the paint flows better for long strokes, liner work, calligraphy, and airbrushing.

Glass and Tile Primer — Use Jo Sonja colors to decorate glassware and ceramics permanently without kiln firing. Use the Glass Primer to prepare the surface. Colors should be mixed with Jo Sonja's Glass Painting Medium to make a paint which bonds to the surface. May be "fast cured" in an oven at 330°F (165°C). Jo Sonja's Glass Primer carries the ACMI CL-Caution label, and should be used according to directions.

Polyurethane Varnish — This water based varnish provides a protective finishing coat of exceptional toughness and flexibility, a coating that resists chemicals, heat, and abrasion. Cleans up with water. Can be used for exterior use by applying at least 6 coats. Clear and non-yellowing. Available in Gloss and Matte finishes.

Retarder Medium — Use this medium to slow down the drying time of acrylic paints. Can also be used for decorative effects.

Texture Paste — A brushable, translucent decorating paste of heavy consistency, Texture Paste can be easily tinted with Jo Sonja's Artists Colors to produce a colored ground similar to Gesso. It can also be mixed directly into your paint for more textured strokes, or used as a neutral white filler to accent the grain characteristics of coarse wood. 11 oz bottle.

Wood Filler — This easy to use filler is ideal for filling holes and blemishes in wood and MDF. It is water based, non-toxic and fast drying, with minimal shrinkage. Use as is, or tint with wood stains.
