Use Artists' Oilbar to draw directly onto canvas and other surfaces with wet oil color. Working with Oilbar is expressive and immediate. Nothing comes between the artist and the surface, not even a brush.

Oilbar is an artists' quality range of oil color in solid, stick form. The colors are made by combining pigment, oil, and a blend of specially selected waxes. Each pigment has the same permanence rating as equivalent colors in Winsor & Newton's Artists' and Winton oil color lines.

To work with Oilbar, wipe away the thin surface film which forms on drying. Underneath is fresh, clean oil color ready for use. It softens and flows as pressure is applied to the bar.

I LOVE these Oilbars! Lots of fun! They make painting more direct and simpler too with no need for brushes and the clean-up is minimal too. No need for toxic solvents either! The colors are bright and look just like a regular oil painting when dry. I highly recommend this product.

It is your hand, your eye, mind.

Your thoughts are complemented by using this product. Oil Bars or Sticks are an extension of your mind, just like pastels you can feel the product reacting with the temp of your hand, not to mention the sensitivity or pressure your hand will yield on this product.

I highly recommend these bars.

Had never used oils before and this was a stress free way to experiment with them. The colourless blender is key since one doesn't need a brush to mix or apply. One can simply blend on the canvas or canvas paper itself.
Would be good if one good get a fine line with the bars by sharpeningthem

Starting into a new canvas can be hard. In addition, having to mix paints and choose your brushes can add to the tension of starting a new piece.
With Oilbar I just grab a stick and start working. When I bought my first Oilbar I went home and just started painting. Within 2 hours I was back at the store buying the whole set. I now use them regularly. They work well with other oil paints too.
