I Love This Stuff
Keeps me and my brushes clean.
Great product saved my sweater
Got black oil paint on sleeve of red sweater and white oil paint on black velvet pants. Thought, what the hey, I'll give it a try. Both came out quick as a wink, no fading, and rinsed down the sink. Love this soap!
Incredibly useful stuff!
from Madison, WI
I use W&N liquid brush cleaner and it's decent, but this linseed soap seems quite a bit less toxic and still removes oil paint like crazy. I dropped an open tube of cad yellow deep on a red wool handmade vegetable dye carpet and by simply rubbing in a small amount of this soap, I removed the paint completely w/ a wet wipe. More importantly, this soap did not affect the dyes in the carpet. The only thing that came up was the paint! This is now a studio staple of mine. It's almost magical stuff!
Good Hand Friendly Brush Soap
from Western North Carolina
I use this for cleaning my water-based oil and acrylic paint brushes. It works great and does not dry my hands out.
Best brush cleaner
from Kodiak, AK
I have used another.eading brush cleaner for years, until i tried a small bottle of Jack's Linseed Oil Soap from the clearance shelf of a local art supply store. This is my new standard brush cleaner! It works equally well for walnut oil based paint cleaner as it does for acrylics! Leaves my brushed soft and supple, and a little goes a long way.
A Great Brush Cleaner
I was given this as a sample another artist couldn't use, and I loved it so much, I bought several small sizes for travel and a big one for home studio and bigger brushes!Cleans very well, non-toxic, gentle on your brushes, I highly recommend it!

Wins Hands Down!
from Irvine, CA
I've tried a myriad of brush cleaning products throughout my career and this wins hands down. This is the ONLY product that I've found that will remove old dried oil paint from brushes and studio surfaces. Months ago I noticed a dark slash of dried paint on my studio blinds (metal) and nothing would remove it. After my first purchase, on a whim I rubbed some of Jack's onto the blind, let it sit for about 2 minutes and the paint came off!It leaves brushes soft and supple. I clean by first wiping my brushes on rags, then use a little turpenoid to clean out the bulk of paint. Next I work some Jack's into the brush, wipe and then repeat 1 or 2 times. I finish with cool water and liquid soap, gently squeeze out the water, shape and lay flat to dry.At least once a week I have s student come to me with a brush that they neglected. With a little effort, the brush can be restored fairly well. It's non-toxic, smells like linseed oil and is easy to use. I'm sold and now recommend this to all my student.
