Artists can't afford to buy tools that won't last. That's why Richeson Canvas Pliers are a great investment.
Made of heavy-duty cast iron, they feature 3" (7.62 cm) wide serrated jaws and a textured, no-slip handle for a secure grip — making it easy for you to achieve a tight, even stretch every time.

Comments about Richeson Cast Iron Canvas Pliers:
Cast iron and uncomfortable to use. I received a defective item with a notch in the jaws. Replaced with Fredrix - better design, chrome plated: cost a little more but worth it.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

First Canvas Pliers
from East Texas, TX
Stretched my first canvas using these pliers. They were a little hard on my hands but I have not used them and this way in such a long time my hands were probably just weak. The quality is there and they are very, very sturdy pliers.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Why spend more
from Bullhead City, AZ
I bought these to use in my 1st canvas stretching project. They worked perfect! I can't imagine why anyone would spend more for a similar item.
Richeson cast iron canvas pliers
from Seattle, WA
First time buyer of this; Love it and wish I bought it sooner! So easy to use!!!
A Solid Tool
The 3" wide jaws really helped me in getting the job done on the largest canvas I've ever had to stretch. Unfortunately, any wider makes available have the rubber pads for jaw-grips rather than the serrated, mated metal jaws these sport. I also prefer the rough iron finish, better to get a grip on, compared to most other makes available in a slick chrome finish. It's a solid tool and a solid value.
Grab well with minimum of effort.
Works like they should
from Portland, OR
I don't know much about the market for canvas pliers but I can say these were extremely affordable and have thus far made stretching canvases much easier. So far, I've stretched about 7 large canvases with them..they have a good grip on the fabric and make the framed piece tight as a drum. Great deal.
Does what it should

Stretch canvas like a pro! (or just save your finger strength) These canvas pliers have made stretching canvas very easy. Mine did have a casting burr on it that I had to shave off before use, but nothing that a simple file couldnt fix.
Cast Iron Canvas Pliers Saves Time - Saves Money

The canvas pliers work great on cowhides. No hassle in stretching thick hides to required shape. Saves time which saves money.
