Artists can't afford to buy tools that won't last. That's why Richeson Canvas Pliers are a great investment.
Made of heavy-duty cast iron, they feature 3" (7.62 cm) wide serrated jaws and a textured, no-slip handle for a secure grip — making it easy for you to achieve a tight, even stretch every time.

Comments about Richeson Cast Iron Canvas Pliers:
Got this tool for restretching canvases after scanning for prints. They did the job well. They are a little finnicky to work with as the teeth on mine do not align perfectly. They grab on one side better than the other. If you stretch all your canvases by hand, I recommend a more quality tool. However, for the occaisional stretcher, like me, I think they will do just fine.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not worth the money.
from St. Clairsville
I bought 3 pair & the first pair broke (rivet popped out) on the 4th canvas. I was able to repair that set of pliers. Then another pair broke (the cast metal SPLIT!) on the 10th canvas. I learned my lesson not to buy the cheapest!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My company uses this product for many different jobs for our clients! Lasts super long, barely have to repurchase and we use these everyday. No complaints !

Cast iron and uncomfortable to use. I received a defective item with a notch in the jaws. Replaced with Fredrix - better design, chrome plated: cost a little more but worth it.
Merchant response: We're sorry that these pliers didn't work well for you, but of course we were glad to assist you with an exchange. If we can be of further assistance, just let us know!
First Canvas Pliers

Stretched my first canvas using these pliers. They were a little hard on my hands but I have not used them and this way in such a long time my hands were probably just weak. The quality is there and they are very, very sturdy pliers.

Why spend more
from Bullhead City, AZ
I bought these to use in my 1st canvas stretching project. They worked perfect! I can't imagine why anyone would spend more for a similar item.

First time buyer of this; Love it and wish I bought it sooner! So easy to use!!!
A Solid Tool
The 3" wide jaws really helped me in getting the job done on the largest canvas I've ever had to stretch. Unfortunately, any wider makes available have the rubber pads for jaw-grips rather than the serrated, mated metal jaws these sport. I also prefer the rough iron finish, better to get a grip on, compared to most other makes available in a slick chrome finish. It's a solid tool and a solid value.
Grab well with minimum of effort.
