I etch a variety of metals using this solution including copper, brass, pewter and red brass. This is the safest etching solution available with the proper strength needed for detailed, quality etching results.
I use my etched pieces for printmaking plates, to make jewelry pieces and also as texture plates for polymer clay and Precious Metal Clay, (PMC). I use this solution exclusively when I teach metal etching classes because I know the results will be consistently excellent. In one class we etched 392 one inch diameter discs using just two 16 oz.
