The price is more than the substitutes, but they are not the same guaranteed quality. To me it is VERY reasonable.

Beautiful surface, which invite creation. Energizes the artistic process on a deep level, as the surface is so exquisitely perfection . I did not realize that I have had a residual hesitation to beginning, and completing a work as previous surfaces I have used are so inherently rough and inadequate, demanding technical process compensation. These panels are worthy of my efforts .Thanks.

I have purchased a variety of different brands of panels from Blick over the years, and this is by far the worst product I have received. First, 3 of the 4 panels arrived with damaged corners —and I really don't believe it was Blick's packaging as they had the same air bags as other brands I have purchased (all 1/8" thick). To add insult to the injured corners, I removed the first wrapper to find the glue from Ampersand's label was stuck to the surface all down the middle of the painting surface. I opened a second package—same thing. This glue would not come off with eraser or water or thinner, I ultimately ended up sanding and then applying two coats of gesso. So much for "needs no priming or preparing" adverts. I would have been better off with the cheap $2 panels— which always arrive with their corners intact.

I am in the process of building a mosaic to hang indoors. I have only done stepping stones, so this is a great change. I had a hard time finding out which wood type would be suitable for mosaic hangings, and another one of your customers answered my inquiry with your website.
I couldn't find anyone in Canada that makes this product.

I'm an oil painter and I love working on these boards. I first started out painting on canvas. At one point tried hardboard, didn't really like it and didn't even consider using boards again for two years. I had signed up for a painting workshop and these were on the supply list. Love them, love them. I like the smoothness of the board and how the paint adheres to them.

The gesso board is great for oils and acrylics and perfect for oil pastels. The clay board has the most amazing surface for pen and ink and pencil.
