Formulated from several clays for plasticity and texture, this light brown earthenware clay contains tiny specks that give it the look of gas-fired and reduced stoneware. It also contains a fine grit that makes it stronger and easier to throw larger pieces.
Brown Stone Earthenware No. 29 is excellent for all types of hand-building, slab work, extrusions, sculpture, and wheel-throwing. It can be fired at Cone 06–5 (1855°F–2205°F). The recommended glaze firing is cone 05 (1911°F). Any Amaco low-fire glaze works well on this clay body. Because of its wide firing range, Amaco high-fire glazes also achieve good results. This clay is talc-free.
The 50 lb carton contains two 25 lb blocks of moist clay.
Note — This clay is AP non-toxic when moist.
