I've used most of the Amaco PC glazes in my work. They are very consistent and there are great ideas for layering on the Amaco website. Dick Blick has very nice prices.
My current favorite is Palladium, fantastic metallic/mirrored gunmetal look. Runs a tiny bit so I always put the piece on a stilt just in case.

I just got my 1st shipment of Potter's Choice glaze (pack no. 4) just to test it out. It was better than I expected. I layered the glazes like the Amaco website suggests & it turned out just beautiful the very first time around (not what I'm use to). I am definitely ordering more colors.

I bought each classpack to test the glazes... I followed the directions indicated on the container and my results were fantastic in some instances where as others... well... need another coat to get the desired results. Blue Rutile, Brown albony slip, oil spot, tenmaku, shino, salt buff, seaweed, light sepia, iron luster, iron stone, tourmaline, lustrus jade and firebrick all seemed to get the same looks as in the pictures shown... all other tests need another coat. It appears that if I look really closely I am getting the results in the pics... the pics shown may be blown up so you can really see the details in the pooling...so when you look at the piece it is much darker than the pics. I used porcelain so I know it is not my clay body. It may just be that I need another coat to get the desired results...

I must say that the indigo float is really cool... I applied 3 coats and where it was a little thin it was a dark green and where it pooled looks like the pics. Nice glaze. The gold metallic turned out like a metallic black (3 coats was not enough for this one!) Midnight blue is more black than blue! and the toasted sage is really ugly.

These glazes are really fun to experiment with layering... they do not run a lot and they pool beautifully! I have ordered the celedon and the saturation metallic to try next we'll see how that goes. My favorites are.. the salt buff, oil spot,albany slip brown, blue rutile, iron luster, indigo float and seaweed. I'll be ordering more in the gallon size. Fantastic price!

This is the first time I've tried Amaco glazes, and I'm a convert. I've always used Spectrum and they are good glazes, but some of them run terribly. I've tried 6 different Potter's Choice glazes and none of them run at all. The blue rutile and indigo float are particularly eye-catching and I can't wait to experiment with combinations of the various glazes! Fantastic results plus the fact that the Amaco glazes are less expensive than Spectrum make the choice a no-brainer!

I have used Blue Rutile, Albany Slip Brown , and True Celadon dipping glazes on my pieces for the last 3 years. Blue Rutile is my top seller. I've used it on white, brown speckled, dark brown and red stoneware with the only difference being the shading. It reacts and runs the same on each type of clay. If I need to overlap dipping on my large pieces, I just sponge the visible seam with a little extra glaze and it breaks beautifully. Albany Slip did craze on my brown speckled clay when it was too thick or if I took my pieces out of the kiln before the temp reached 90. I don't have any problem with it now because I am very careful about the glaze thickness. True Celadon looks great on white clay, but looks a little washed out on brown speckled. I dip once and sponge around the outside lightly to add a more vibrant green to these peices. Be careful using this on red or dark brown clay because it tends to be too dark, almost a black. I've also had success with Oil Spot, but I can't seem to get the right coloring with the Shino, so it just sits unused in the bucket. Overall, these are fantastic glazes with the Blue Rutile being my top choice. For those of you new to pottery, you can't beat the price deals, discounts, [...] with Dick Blick and the 5 gallon buckets of glazes.
