Grumbacher has been America's leading producer of artist's paints for over 80 years. Pre-Tested Oils are Grumbacher's flagship, their professional line of oil colors. They contain the finest pure pigments milled in select alkali-refined linseed oil. Pre-Tested Oils offer high chroma, superior tinting strength, excellent adhesion, outstanding working properties, the utmost lightfastness, and archival permanence. All colors are available in 1.25 oz (37 ml) tubes. Whites and Ivory Black are also available in an economical 5 oz (150 ml) tube. A free color chart is available on request. Flake White — A permanent, very heavy-bodied, opaque, warm white. With its reputation as the most permanent of all whites, Flake White is ideal for heavy impasto applications, or where several layers of color must be built up. Titanium White — Titanium White is a permanent, heavy-bodied, versatile, opaque, pure white that is neutral in hue. It's ideal for applications where great opacity is required, and is considered the strongest tinting white. Soft Titanium White — Soft Titanium White is a permanent soft-bodied, opaque, non-yellowing Titanium White that is ground in poppyseed and sunflower oils, rather than linseed oil. These oils do not yellow with age, as does pure linseed oil. Soft Titanium White is also recommended for fluid wet-in-wet techniques. Zinc White — Zinc White is a permanent, heavy-bodied, semi-opaque, cool white. It's designed especially for brilliant clear tints with all oil colors, and is excellent for glazing. Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials. Warning — Some colors contain pigments, such as cadmium salts, that are toxic, and should be used only by persons who are old enough to follow instructions for safe use and clean-up. Cautionary labels and warnings should be followed strictly. Do not apply toxic colors with an airbrush or sprayer. |
