Basic Screen Printing with Luke Powers

This demo/workshop will cover the basic screen printing process (serigraphy). We will focus on a photo emulsion method you can use to produce single color t-shirt/textile prints at home.

This is an informational workshop and demo for beginners designed to get you the information you need to start printing at home. The focus will be on process. Workshop will be held every Sunday.

Introduction to Bookbinding

Learn Coptic binding and a cover embossing technique. This is a two hour follow along demonstration offered the first Wednesday of every month from 6p-8p. Students will leave with a 5”x7” hand bound journal. All supplies and tools are provided. Limited decorative paper selection will be provided. Stamp Making and Lino Cut Print Making 101

This 2 hour workshop will teach you everything you need to know to get started making your own stamps and linoleum prints! You'll learn three different surfaces, starting with foam and moving on to soft and hard mounted linoleums, and you'll be able to try your prints on a variety of different paper surfaces. The three stamps you make you get to take home, all in class supplies are included, just bring your design ideas. Class size is limited so sign up today, 18 and up please due to the tools.

Watercolor Fast and Loose

Discover how much fun watercolor can be, once we learn to loosen up! With this Monday class series, we'll explore different methods & products for creating beautiful, bold watercolor paintings. Play with the new Aqua Board, learn to use Golden's Absorbent Ground, layer with watercolor crayons & pencils. Look at painting watercolor with an abstract vision; experiment with pouring, dripping & painting large scale from a traditional still life. I'll supply the paper and technique extras--you bring a palette, brushes, tube watercolor paints and a playful attitude.

Art Journal Adventure Sketchbook

Discover the creative power of art journaling & invite your muse out to play! We'll start with a blank, heavy duty sketchbook; embellish the cover with stamps, paint & collage techniques. Tackle the empty pages with a variety of mixed media, experimenting with gesso, tin foil, tape, color washes & much more. Once we've created colorful pages, we'll explore art exercises to foster your creativity & artistic confidence--a perfect start to a beautiful relationship with art journaling. Class runs 3 weeks, space is limited! Age limit 14 years and up.

Kid's Art Class

Location: Blick Art Materials

Students will learn a variety of painting and drawing techniques, as well as important art vocabulary. During each class session students will complete a different work of art. Subject matter will range from landscape to figure to abstract works of art. No experience is necessary. An art shirt is recommended!
