This handy, lightweight tool is a must for every painter's utility kit. It helps artists determine composition, crop images, and identify color values. The ViewCatcher is constructed of neutral gray #5 durable plastic and has a small sight opening, to aid in viewing "true" color.

Adjust the window opening to help find the perfect composition, oriented horizontally, vertically, or in a square format. Five calibrations aid in finding that perfect proportion:

This is a brilliantly simple tool that can help your painting and drawing immensely. I have previously used funky home-made viewfinders because I thought it wasn't necessary to pay for one, but that was dumb. For a few dollars, this will repay you many times over. It is portable, well-designed and it works! If you are new to art, and are struggling with the concepts of design and composition, you will find this very helpful. Regular use of a viewfinder will definitely accelerate your learning curve. If you are experienced and want the most convenient and compact viewfinder, try this. Highly recommended for all artists!!!

Used it the other day,on plein air site.Worked great. Unfortunately for me, lately I've been using 10x14 watercolor paper-no such frame or viewer. But was able to measure (one-time only) where to set it and now, it's great.
