Sharpie's Peel‑Off China Marker (also known as a grease pencil) features a thick, waxy core that marks on any surface — china, glass, metal, plastic, photographs, films, and more.
To reveal more of the core, simply pull the string and peel away the paper.

Can't find these in town. Had them sent right to me. No fuss. These are the best China markers (some people call them grease pencils). Always great quality from Sharpie

I am using the china pencils to label hand built things that Vets make in an art therapy program that I do as a volunteer to pay them back in a relaxing forum. I love that Aha moment when someone finds out that they are more creative then they thought and that keeps them coming.I would like it if you would carry more sculpting products. Thank you
I would buy this pencil again

I like this China Marker better then using a charcole pencil. The Charcole pencil is so messy. It gets all over everything. Where as with the china marker is a nice clean finish. I have been drawing with the China Marker now for three years and would not go back to charcole ever again. It works best with newsprint paper.

As a level 2 radiographer these are exactly what I need for work at a pretty decent price
Super for oil pastel paintings details
I use the «Peel-Off» to make details on some finished oil pastel paintings. Up to now, it is the only low cost pencil I found that works! The only downside is the limited range of colors.

Sketch with Ease
from Sacramento, CA
I use Sharpie Peel-off China Marker Pencils to sketch under watercolor and acrylic on paper. Because they are made of a waxy medium, the pencil lines do not bleed under the water and I like the look of the drawing showing a bit through the painting. You can use the black pencil under paintings, or sketch alone using black and the three primary colors (red, blue and yellow) to blend, making all the colors of the rainbow plus some great browns too. Although I leave the paper white for highlights, the white pencil is great for toning down color and blending as well. I am teaching a class coming up where we will only be using Sharpie Peel-Off China Markers on paper for sketching an autumn still life!

A great sketching pencil

This product is an excellent tool to have for sketching. It is pressure sensitive and can respond well to a wide range of surfaces. A main stay with me.

I cartoon with regular Sharpie pens.. I came across the Sharpie China Marker.. it rubs out with a tissue and looks great. I use the colors occasionally.

I use these pencils when I create image transfers, which originate w/ glossy magazine paper. Glossy paper doesn't "take" usual pencils, so I reached for these China Markers, and they work fabulously for this purpose. So, I'll mark up an image, apply packing tape, soak for a while, remove paper and VOILA. And the kicker is the pencil marks remain!
