Made using an exclusive binder that provides more pigment with every stroke, QoR Modern Watercolors have all the subtlety, transparency, and flow of a great traditional watercolor, yet the colors embody the fire and vibrance of the best acrylic or oil paint — even after drying. It's fair to say QoR's color strength, range, and versatility are simply unmatched in the history of watercolors.
Made by Golden Artist Colors, a legendary American paint maker, QoR (pronounced "core") Modern Watercolors were developed with input by leading watercolor artists. The name comes from a technical acronym meaning "Quality of Results." Artists can choose from 83 high-intensity colors and experience:
This exceptional performance is thanks to Golden's unique polymer binder called Aquazol, which is exclusive to QoR. Not only does it enable incredible color effects, it offers greater flexibility and resistance to cracking than traditional watercolor binders.

I expected better from Golden. I use their acrylics and love the beautiful rich colors. With the watercolors I have mostly been dissapointed. I've bought 6 colors from them. The pyrolysis red and quinacrinone red are beautiful. The wuinacrinone violet is ok, not as nice as Daniel Smith IMO. The next coke tintate is very weak. Daniel Smith Nickle Yellow Tintate has more tinting strength h. It is a very mild color but shouldn't be as pale as the QOR paint. I was extremely dissapointed with the Cobalt Violet and the Cobalt Turquoise. The Cobalt Turquoise granulated too much and was washed out when using wet into wet. The Cobalt violet was a huge dissapointment. It is a pretty hue sort of pinkish, but it is very weak. It just about disappears wet into wet and is pale and translucent when used full strength on dry paper. For the price, these paints aren't worth it.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Although a bit pricey, QoR watercolors, in the long run, are quite economical; so little paint is needed in order to maintain saturation, even when diluted, that a tube lasts for a significant amount of time, making the initial cost worthwhile. My first reaction to QoR paints was that, "They flow like silk." I also appreciate the increased open time that they allow. Liking saturated color, I certainly appreciate that characteristic of these paints.

I paint a lot and large in size. I love these but I want it in the bigger tubes.

I recently bought QOR watercolors and I just love them. The colors are very strong and rich and vibrant. I would highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys watercolor painting . My favorite color, if I had to choose,is cobalt teal. using the QOR colors along with my Winsor Newton colors that I have been using for years has added some real zip to my paintings . I have gone back into some of my earlier paintings and added glazes and other little touches with QOR paint and it really has popped them into better paintings and create a lot more interest. I have been recommending them to my students, they also think the colors are incredible. Thank you for inventing such cool colors.

Wow I am LOVING the QoR watercolors. They've got some kind of ultra-scientific new binder or medium material in them, that makes them flow in a super-slick almost greasy manner, even when very watered down. So if the consistency is (according to Zbukvic) "tea" or even weaker, you STILL get drag on the paper from the pigment, it's so amazing! I don't know how they do it. I wish I that once I had stopped buying student-quality watercolors, that I had started my collection of professional-quality watercolors with QoR brand entirely, but I have so many others (which are good ENOUGH but not AS good compared to QoR) that it's going to take me a while to run through the tubes so I can get some Qor. :)
Had to try a tube!
from Friday Harbor, WA
I had to try a tube of this paint after buying a set for a friend. It does seem to have very high pigment density. The binder seems a bit honey like in consistency; a characteristic that may be specific to the tube I bought. I love the color, and would try more from this line.
Smooth, rich color

I love the QoR paints! The colors are very rich and vibrant, especially the quins.
Great carbon black

I have only tried the carbon black so far, but it is wonderfully rich, workable, and varied. It does not dry flat or dead as other dark watercolors tend to do.

These watercolors are indeed modern and exquisite colors. They really are in a league of their own. It's hard to compare them to top brands such as Daniel Smith, etc. because the colors are so wonderfully different. Stunning but not too intense. I've made 'full pans' out of the all of the QoR watercolors and created beautiful portraits and landscapes.
