It's fair to say QoR's color strength, range, and versatility are simply unmatched in the history of watercolors.
Made by Golden Artist Colors, a legendary American paint maker, QoR (pronounced "core") Modern Watercolors were developed with input by leading watercolor artists. The name comes from a technical acronym meaning "Quality of Results." Artists can choose from 83 high-intensity colors and experience:
This exceptional performance is thanks to Golden's unique polymer binder called Aquazol, which is exclusive to QoR. Not only does it enable incredible color effects, it offers greater flexibility and resistance to cracking than traditional watercolor binders.

My Dick Blick order was great. The paints are wonderful, and when I goofed on using a gift card, a customer service rep was there to help me VERY fast. They made it all so easy to straighten out! I love the products and the customer service I received from Dick Blick.

Too Expensive but very nice paint
from Kansas City
I bought all three 6-tube sets when they temporarily dropped the price of the sets a bit last summer. I'm a beginning watercolorist and along with a few Sennelier pans these were among my first watercolors. I liked the paints very much. QOR's Sap Green in particular is a standout. I saw a lot of criticism on YouTube of the large metal tins these tiny tubes came in, but I still use my three tins for paint tube storage and sometimes as spare palettes. The main reason I didn't stick with QOR is because they are way too expensive. I can buy a 21 ml tube of Sennelier's Sap Green for a lot less money than the 11 ml tube of QOR Sap Green costs. And Sennelier makes gorgeous watercolors, so I'm not just being cheap. The price of QOR paints isn't justified in my opinion. I'm not sorry I tried QOR. If they ever make larger tubes and drop the price by a LOT, I will give them another look.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Beautiful, vibrant colors

Very happy with QOR! Colors dry very slowly on the palette. Re-wet and paints are good right away instead of minutes of soaking like Windsor Newton. Try to avoid any type of lifting technique. The color clings to the paper. It makes layering easy. Having good paint like this makes a really big difference to a new watercolor painter.

brilliant and versatile
from Seattle, WA
These Qor paints are deliciously intense and supremely rewettable. So while they do not "stay" wet like those paints that contain glucose (which presents other difficulties) they rewet almost instantly, making them truly useful and a pleasure to use. Their brilliance and intensity means a little goes a long way. Blick also has the best prices for Qor I've seen.
QoR colors are my favorite.

I am a water color artist and teach water color painting on a regular weekly schedule.I like the vibrant colors and the way the pigment behaves on paper. Since QoR is new to me I am still experimenting with how to get the most out of this product.Since the colors are so vibrant it take some precaution with how to adjust the strength of color.

Very intense colors
These are very high-quality watercolor paints. The colors are very dark and intense out of the tube, so a little goes a long way. They also re-wet easily on the palette.I'm relatively new to watercolors and I've tried QoR, Daniel Smith, Holbein, Cotman, and Colors of Nature, but I ended up switching to predominantly QoRs on my palette. They're more expensive than other brands but the density of color can't be beat.
QoR delicious colors

Transparent, deep, rich colors. When thinned out, the colors are still rich and vibrant.

In short, a vivid, funky and perhaps "modern" rainbow. I love them so much that I might just marry them. Perhaps it was the unique-to-me color palette but they completely distracted me - I usually use professional quality Winsor and Newton watercolors. Here are some qualities I noticed about them that made them unique.1. The color is a little more sticky than my other colors, meaning in more medium wet application it will stain the paper more quickly making it a little more difficult to remove and lift. But this also makes it easier to create quick layered effects.2. Cobalt Teal is an interesting opaque watercolor, and when it is applied over warm hues it creates an unique texture. You can see this in the painting on the right and left. It also mixes really well with green gold.3. Look at that Green Gold on the right! It easily applied in those glowing layers. I love it!4. I don't work with a lot of purple watercolors, preferring to mix them. I find bottled purple dull. Diaxazine Purple is thick and can be applied very darkly, almost serving as a black but watered down it is bright and a true smooth purple (not grainy like some purples). Add a little of the magenta to it and wow.

VanDyke Brown and Buff Titanium
The VanDyke brown is a gorgeous reddish brown, and the titan buff is just what it should be. Both colors are potent - a tube will last a long time.
