Comments about Prismacolor Premier Illustration Markers:
I do a lot of illustration with prismacolor markers, which are a great value to me at under two bucks a pop. I figured the best fine liner to use in tandum with the markers would be prismas, because they were probably designed to be compatible in every way.
When I first started using these prisma fine liners, I was VERY impressed with how smooth the lines are that they lay down, and with the darkness of the ink. As I used them more and more though, I started getting annoyed with the fact that they smudge so much if I would accidently touch an area that I inked over, even if I let it dry for an hour or two. And when I color over them with the prismas, they tend to smear, especially with the yellows and oranges. This would happen even after letting the lines dry for an entire day. It's really frustrating to work on a piece for 4 or 5 hours and see some black getting smeared into a spot that I need to be bright yellow.
The bottom line is that while I think these markers would be GREAT for strict pen or black and white illustration, they are not as resistant to smearing as I need them to be. If I could rate them at 3 1/2 stars, I would have. I haven't tried any pens that are better than these, but I'm sure they are out there. I'm going with copic multiliner SP's next to see how they work out.

Very good pens. Smooth lines without skips or blots; durable tips that don't wear out. I bought a few of these pens a few years ago, and I've done hundreds of drawings and most of them haven't run out of ink yet. I decided to buy some more just in case I lose them, because they're way more likely to get lost than to stop working in any way.

Comments about Prismacolor Premier Illustration Markers:
I tried these out because I fell in love with Prismacolor's Turquoise pencils, I figured if their pens were as good as their pencils I might be on to something. I was not disappointed, in fact, highly impressed. And I came here tonight to order more. I do highly detailed work, and these are spectacular. Even, predictable flow with all tips, very nice to work with. And velvety smooth for sketching, too. Great pens, highly recommended!

This pen works really well for drawing. It is the best value for a drawing ink pen that i have found. It is very similar to the Micron, but a better value.

The 005's are wonderful for underlining/writing notes in my Bible. No bleed through, even though most Bible paper is pretty thin. Like the 01's for underlining/notes in other types of books. Highly recommended!

I bought these for class. We are doing a graphic novel assignment. These work great, plus, they are half the price I found in two different stores. The tips are very durable.
