I particularly like the Aquabrush, which can be used to shade or"erase" marks made in the water soluble inks, but also with other mediums.
I use the Aquabrush with Stabilo black marking pencils, which are water soluble, with much the same effect as with the colored ink Pentels, except that complete erasure of very dense pencil marks isn't possible. I use the above and sepia, grey & black Pentels in figure drawing, and am looking forward to sketching with them on an upcoming trip. Wish ink refills came for grey and sepia Pentels. At this time, refills are only available with black ink. Great product--Takes a little while to get accustomed to using them...Highly recommend these brush/pens.

Great variation of lines, from broad brush strokes to fine line work
Exceptionally bright red pigment
Great inkwell design, just squeeze and watch the brush fill with ink

Ink does take a little bit to dry, so be careful not to smear.

I haven't had these long enough to know how long the ink lasts, so the value rating could change, but for now, I like them very much. They work well for sketching in the field, and the one that holds clear water is good for getting other colors if you carry some paint. I like the holding capacity for the clear pen, and the ease of filling.

I picked up some of these pens with the black ink about a year ago and absolutely love the painterly effects I can get with them. I find them to be excellent tools for sketching, especially used with a water brush which allows me to get grays as well as the dark black. The ink is just lovely, giving gorgeous effects. They haven't leaked at all, as I carry one around all the time in my pocket along with a water brush--though the pen can achieve beautiful effects without taking advantage of its water solubility. A very good quality product.

I was extremely disapponted in the Pentel Arts Color Brush Pens. I was pleased with the way work but when I went to seal the finished product, it bled all over the place. I had purchased these because someone had given me a Pentel Metallic Brush Pen that I was extremely happy with...it was easy to work with & did not bleed when trying to seal it. I decided to look for other colors & that's when I found these. I purchased a few different colors because of my experience with the others but now feel that I totally wasted my money.

I use this product for small drawings, cartooning, and Japanese Calligraphy. I like how easy it is to use in various situations, no messy set up or clean up so you can be in many settings with a sketch book and "go to town", just squeeze the handle if you need to pull more ink. The brush responds well and has body. It holds ink and keeps a neat point so you get a variety of lines. It is one of my favorite art supplies! (I bought extras and gave them away as gifts and have heard nothing but rave reviews from the receivers!)

Picked up the black and grey pens. They are really excellent. The ink flows well and the brush stays in place with a nice point. They sat in a tray for about two months after installing the cartridge and didn't dry out. I am now planning on getting some colors. Just a terrific product.Pick up some pro-White too...you can keep tightening up your work.

Really Nice! If you purchase make sure you use a plate finish or some semi-smooth paper because vellum eats the ink up,also it's water based so If your trying for a really clean line make sure your hands are dry or you'll smear your work.

to me it's better than a pitt or prismacolor brush pen,for the money and durability of the bristles (synthetic not felt) it's totally worth the money.
