These fast drying, professional quality alkyds offer superior pigment concentration while maintaining the excellent handling characteristics of each individual pigment. With a creamy consistency similar to that of Da Vinci traditional oils, Fast-Dry Alkyds are perfect for working with a painting knife or brush.
All 60 colors in the line are permanent and have an ASTM lightfastness rating of I (excellent) or II (very good). Colors can be thinned with paint thinner or turpentine to lower the viscosity and increase transparency. Colors can also be mixed with linseed-based oil.
A thin film dries to the touch in approximately 24 to 48 hours depending on the pigments, thickness of the paint, and environmental temperature. This paint is excellent for building layers quickly.
Color Chart Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.

Comments about Da Vinci Paints Da Vinci Professional Fast-Dry Alkyds:
Both my husband and I are professional artists, and we love these paints. They have a lovely buttery texture, and as they have a great variety of opaque and transparent colours, they can be used in many different types of applications- from heavy impasto to thin glazes. They don't dry too fast, as acrylics do,or too slow as traditional oils do, and the painting can be worked on in different stages of drying for different effects.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Fast dry, but not too fast

I use this color in painting portraits. it gives an outdoor tanned appearance to faces.

I'm a professional painter. I use alkyd paint and I've been searching for a high quality paint. I really want to like Da Vinci paints. They have wonderful deep color and are beautiful. When I get a good tube, the paint has excellent handling qualities. However, I've had a few tubes in which the paint is hardening. In some, I can barely squeeze out the paint and I have to mix it with a medium to use it. I like the 150 ml tubes, so that is a lot of paint. On occasion, I've had to discard a half tube of paint. I've not had this problem with any other paint. I think they have a good product but their consistency is not there.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I will buy this and other colors

This product is comparable to other oils. I love that it has alkyds. I only use walnut alkyd to mix when I paint. It''s safer.

it does what is advertised: dries faster. but it is denser and does not wet the surface as well as regular oils do. to correct this, you can add gel, but it takes longer to dry in same proportion as the gel. i got better results adding solvent like turpentine in small amounts. then it dries fast. it is a matter of experimenting and getting used to it, but it is a good alternative for getting a paint finished in less time

High quality alkyd brand
By James painter
I use these alkyd paints like regular oil paints. I like: No alkyd smell, nice buttery consistency not runny, almost no separation of paint and oil (no runny mess), high quality tubes no cracks or leaks, paint is touch dry in less than 24 hours (even at full strength). I use cadmium lemon (brightest cad lemon I've found so far out of 17 different brands of oil paint), cadmium orange, cadmium yellow light. These cadmium colors are touch dry in about 12-14 hours. They're also very opaque not "watered-down". Another color hansa yellow light (great for making greens) but this one takes a little longer to dry (18 to 24 hours touch dry). Cobalt blue and cobalt teal are both nice colors and take about 15-20 hours to dry. The price is about right for the high pigment content, lack of smell, and portion size 40ml or 150ml. These paints also mix well with other brands I use. Brands such as, Blockx, Winsor Newton, Williamsburg, Maimeri Puro, CAS, and Rembrandt. As you mix these other paints with a DaVinci alkyd paint, you will notice the other brands drying faster too. Hansa yellow light mixed with ultramarine blue from Blockx dries in less than 24 hours at full strength 50/50 ratio. The only issues I have so far, and this may not be a negative to some people, is if I leave a unused portion of DaVinci alkyd paint on my glass palette overnight it forms a dry skin over the portion of paint exposed to the air. One other thing is you can't fix your mistakes by removing wet paint days after the mistake was made.

No smell, beautiful colour

Nice and buttery with rich colour. The best part is no odour compared to the strong paint thinnner odour from W&N Alkyd.

These Alykds are high quality, smooth and dry nicely. I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in speeding up their drying time without sacrificing the quality of your work.
