I print on cottons. This product is runnier than Speedball, which takes some getting used to if you are accustomed to Speedball. But it also has a softer hand- which is important to me. I prefer this product to Speedball. The colors are really rich, especially the magenta and cyan. I have had no problems with fading or running.

I just ordered some Permaset to try, so I can't compare those two yet.

I started out with this textile ink, wanting to produce hand silk screened images from home on t-shirts. I was attracted to it by it's water clean up. I ended up using an oil based Plastisol that the professional t-shirt makers use for a number of reasons. When making numerous shirts the water based Blick textile inks have a tendency to dry in the screen especially if the air is dry, making any kind of screen changes and multiple color applications impossible. Even if a product was made to add to the ink to increase it's wetness in the screen while printing, I'd find this extra step time consuming. I also found that when running test samples compared to the Plastisols, the Plastisols cure better in a shorter period of time and wash better. When producing a number of shirts, all these little steps add up. Since switching to Platisol inks I have nice solid inks that pass the stretch test consistently with no cracking and fading of colors in the wash. Even when cured at the recommended temps, I found the Blick red ink faded & softened. On some shirts I like this distressed, soft look. I would save it for small, special projects for friends or classrooms. Not multiple colors or huge, commercial orders where high quality is essential. I do wish Plastisol would make a great water based ink. Until then I am using an oil based Plastisol.

I use for multi-purpose. Works well for all applications. There are no faults found yet.

I'm a poster designer, have been screen printing my own posters for more than 5 years. This was my first time using Blick's acrylic ink. I used the florescent orange right out of the jar and after a few pulls found it to be some of the worst ink I have ever used. Here is why- runny consistency, uneven coating, appears to separate as it dries- almost a "cracking" effect. It dries too quickly in the screenand its also WAY too transparent right out of the jar. Clearly they have skimped on the pigment, maybe if the base they used to mix it was better- it would still be usable. Spend the extra buck and get speedball.
