More than a brush — a return to tradition.
Fitch is a traditional and rare hair for oil painting similar to mongoose and sable. Our Fitch is super smooth, ideal for blending and portrait painting.
Sourced in Europe, our Fitch is hand selected and assembled into a solid, more affordable substitute for sable brushes. It’s great for detail or portrait work. We offer this range in three shapes.
Set of 4
This set includes size 8 Filbert, size 14 Bright, and sizes 2 and 10 Round.

Comments about Blick Studio Fitch Brushes:
I recently ranted and raved about how I loved my old Dick Blick Studo Natural Fitch Bright and that I was excited to get this new set. Well, after trying to use it on my current project I decided that I can't use it with oil paint at all. There is no shaped to them when they are wet let alone any spring to them. It is limp when it is wet. I think it may work for watercolor paint. I am extremely disappointed. Maybe Dick Blick can bring this up to the manufacturers. I would rather pay a bit more for stuff that works.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I want to use it for all my projects!
I had an old Blick Studio Natural Fitch Bright brush that a friend gave me. I never gave it a second thought because it was her old brush. So it stayed with my stash forever. Then one day, I just needed a brush for a quick touch up on oil paint project and when I used it, I was so pleasantly surprised. Since then that one brush has always been my "go to" brush whenever I worked with oil paint. So, I bought a set of four, just recently. They are very inexpensive for its performances. My existing other brushes tend to feel like it is "scratching" the canvas. Blick Studio Natural Fitch Bright wears very evenly, it feels good on the canvas, the oil paint goes on smooth on the canvas rather than feeling like it is getting pushed around. You just have to try it yourself. Not all "natural" brushes are the same. In fact, my current portrait paint got put on hold until by brushes came in the mail from Blick art supply store. Blick Studio Natural Fitch Bright brushes are money well spent. You will love them! And I can't wait to try their water color brushes!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Hair quality is not good. Smaller brushes are falling apart.

I've always liked the versatility of the pointed style filberts often found with sables/kolinsky, however I rarely see this tip style with synthetic/blend alternatives. With that, & already having decent experience with a few blick brand kolinskys, I thought I'd give these a try.Rather disappointingly, I immediately found them to be completely useless. As soon as the "hairspray" is washed out, that nice tip shape is gone. Within only a couple strokes of trying to use it, many hairs immediately fray off whichever way they please. They make no attempt to hold their shape at all. The biggest problem though, and what makes them useless for me, is they have no spring whatsoever. Any stroke you make the brush just flops over like limp wet mop. They may be suitable for some drybrush work or as a sort of mop brush for wc or something, but as an alternative to sables for oil, these are worthless. I take no pleasure in ragging on stuff, but I honestly would not buy these again at any price.

These are great

The blick store near me has these on clearance for some reason so I decided to buy a size 10 bright and it is awesome. It is perfect for blending and making subtle brush strokes. I also bought an eclipse round so I'll compare the two to see which is better quality.
