Blick Wood Floater Frames create the illusion that your artwork is "floating" within the frame instead of being covered by it — perfect for displaying a gallery wrap canvas where no staples are visible. The frame easily attaches to the stretcher bars of the canvas from the backside with screws (not included).
They’re made in a variety of popular sizes and color options. The 7/8" deep rabbet frames accommodate 3/4" and 7/8" canvases. A 3/8" clearance between the canvas and the edge of the frame creates the floating effect. Each frame is made by hand. Great care is taken in finishing the wood. The gold leaf frames are hand-finished with the "Old World" technique showing lines between each individual leaf which reveals a thin separation line.
Frame Dimensions – Frames are measured by the size of the artwork they hold. Measure your artwork, mat, or panel, and order that size frame. The frame will overlap your artwork by about 1/4" on each side so it fits securely. If the frame includes a precut mat, the mat opening is indicated as Artwork Size.
Depth (Profile / Thickness) – How thick the frame moulding is from front to back, or how far it sticks out from the wall.
Rabbet Depth – The space inside the frame that holds your artwork and any materials used with it, like glass, matting, or backing. Make sure the total thickness of your materials fit within the rabbet depth.
Open Back Frames - These frames are meant to be hung on the wall and are not shipped with backing material, glazing material, or hanging hardware. The open back frames are commonly used for traditional profile stretched canvases and panels.
