Welcome to dickblick
It's the original soft printmaking material! E-Z-Cut is a block of synthetic rubber-like material that is so easy to carve that even young students can create printing blocks safely. Use our E-Z-Cut handle and Speedball linoleum cutters for pen-like control. It won't slip and slide on the table.
E-Z-Cut is 3/8" thick — thick enough that both sides can be carved if desired. Each package contains two blocks. The 4" × 5-5/8" (9 cm × 14 cm) size is perfect for greeting cards and note cards. Try cutting even smaller squares for rubber stamping! We recommend Dick Blick's water-based printing inks.
Handle printing blocks with care, because E-Z-Cut blocks can break easily if cut too deeply or if accidentally folded. Please note you must use a sharp blade at all times for best results.

much more substantial than I had expected. and quick delivery.
Easy to use
Clean and easy carving media. Holds details fairly well for a soft block. Thick enough to carve both sides of the block.

These are super easy for kids to carve. Durable as soon as kids know not to bend them. If a child carves too deeply, the block can crack in half so need to teach them about the carving depth. Great deal!

I use this to make simple stamps in my middle school printmaking exploratory class. I cut the large slab into 1 1/2 inch squares and use xacto blades to score the outlines of their designs drawn on the blocks and EZ cutters to carve them out. Can't do little details, but enough to get some great stamps, one on each side.

The E-Z-Cut Blocks are just what I need to help me design and make our Christmas Cards. The people we sent them to look forward to getting them every year.

This product is recommended for young students to beginners of all ages. Love the fact that it's 2-sided and thick enough that the 2nd side can be used even if the cuts ended up deep into the block. Have tried other products only to realize the E-Z cut is the better product/value for my students (elementary through high school).

I find that the softcut rubber is the easiest product to uss for beginners in print making.Having never used the zip cutters for myself, the students took to them very well and provided safety for the students.

Blick E-Z cut printing blocks
By Art teacher Alissa
These are so easy to carve--I have even used them with 6 year olds--as long as you have a stop-block and adult supervision, they can carve into these safely and easily and they are so proud of their work. Great for advance art students as well!Much better deal than many other art stores!

Not what I was expecting....
from Spokane, WA
So I'm very new to the stamp carving & thought I'd try a few different brands or types of material and I had used an actual rubber block before using this and I was really surprised to get a powdery substance on my hands and clothes (it wasn't especially easy to get off) and while I love how incredibly easy it is to carve, I don't like how easy it crumbles & breaks apart. I've been trying to do intricate pieces and my small eyes or the thin outline of an ear just broke off as I tried to just brush off the carved material to see where I was at. It bummed me out how much slower I had to work with it just so it wouldn't disintergrate in my hand. Perhaps I just need more practice with this specific material. But when using it as an actual stamp, the image came out just as well as any other I've used. I am extra careful when I clean it so I don't accidentally knock off a detail. If someone has tips on carving with this stuff I'd surely appreciate it :)
