Nice Classroom Starter Kit
By Mr. H

Comments about Blick E-Z Cut Classroom Starter Kit:
The basic elements of the kit are great. The plastic handles are stable enough for my students to not have issues, the rollers were better than expected for the price and the ink is the Blick's Water soluble ink. My only down grade is the blades are marked as different sizes, but are extremely similar in size and the angle of the sharpening has a tendency to pull the blade down into the linoleum. I have Speedball blades that are sharpened on the bottom and therefore direct the blade up. I would recommend purchasing some extra Speedball blades such as the No. 1 small V and the No. 6 knife to help keep lines cleaner. I really like the e-z cut linoleum as it is flexible and consistent to cut for middle school student. This was a great buy.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Printmaking with a Purpose
My students created Civil Rights Posters using theBlick E-Z Cut Classroom Starter Kits and have received high praise from teachers, administrators and other students. The materials were easy to use and enabled my students to do this exciting demonstration for Civil Rights.
Great for classes or group instruction
from South Bend, IN
We ordered this set for the after school program at our arts center. The kids (second - fourth grade level) were easily able to carve the blocks. We took blade 5-- the knife blade-- out of the kit as it requires more precision to use.The tools held up well and will be used again. The plates held up well to hand burnishing the ink using the spoons & on an industrial printing press. Very happy with this purchase and will very likely order it in the future for another group of students.

Good starter kit for your classroom
By Mr. Stookey

I recently changed schools and left all my printmaking equipment at my old school. This starter kit was a great value and investment for me and my art students at my new site. The only things missing are colored printing inks and safety boards that I will need to buy separately.

This kit is great for a class full of students who don't have a lot of experience with lino cut/block printing. It has everything you need to get started cutting and printing. The rubber blocks are a bit crumbly when you begin cutting them so make sure to rinse before you begin inking otherwise your ink will have debris in it. The blades are perfect and there are enough sizes to make a variety of lines. The blocks are easy to cut and can carry images on both side or be cut into smaller blocks for even more printmaking possibilities.Negatives: the handles seem cheap and the blades don't fit in some of them easily which made me very nervous about a possible accident. They should include a piece of plexi for inking; it wouldn't add to the cost greatly but is a practical necessity.
