Could Be Better
from Los Angeles, CA
Comments about Blick Bamboo Brush Series 564:
I bought these to use for ink wash paintings. Only the smallest brush was in good condition. They do hold water well, but the 2 bigger brushes were of noticeably far lower quality than the smallest brush.

Holds a point nicely, but holds enough water, too. Essential for what I do!

Bamboo Brush the Best
I cannot find anything wrong with this product. I use the brushes for ink washes and watercolor painting. I like them for the ability to lay down a swath of color or for tiny details. It is its versatility I like.
Bamboo Calligraphy Paintbrushes--WOW!

I got much more than I bargained for...the image online for the brushes I received did them no justice! I often compare quality of the materials I am interested in purchasing online and I thought, especially die to the low price, that I would relieve OKAY quality brushes. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised...it was the touch of elegance my Zen class needed; thank you! I WILL be buying from you again...spreading the word! :-)

I'm using these brushes with novice Chinese Brush painting students. They are very pointed, which is what I look for in good brushes. It's great to have a 3-brush set of sizes for the students. Very reasonably priced.
Blick Bamboo Brush
I used this product with watercolor. The small brush worked well but had stray hairs sticking out. The large brush looses hair in the paint. Like cheap brushes sometimes do.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Stamped with Bramd

These brushes are a good value. Three sizes are useful for water coloring, calligraphy, etc. I bought a lot of them for use in my elementary art room. I was disappointed to see that each brush is stamped "Dick Blick". I will be spending some time to find a solvent that will take the print off- I don't need to hear each child read the name and laugh.Other than that, a great product.

I use bamboo brushes in many painting projects including Sumi-E work. They are long lasting and for me practical hard working tools.Joy

I gave these to my daughter as part of a Christmas gift with some drawing inks. She was thrilled and couldn't wait to use them.

The last time I purchased bamboo brushes was over 30 years ago. Things change, of course. I do like these brushes, they do all I require of them, very well. I am using them to do traditional Japanese brush paintings. I have no complaints.
