The Blick Acrylic White Gesso is perfect for my kind of work. I do 3-dimensional scenery using resin and plaster castings for rock work. This Gesso smooths out and covers very well. It does not fisheye on the resin castings.

This is my first time using gesso, and I must say that this a good consistency for paint, not too thick or thin, and it's very affordable. Just be careful when opening the can, as I got it all over me because I used too much force. Overall, a solid product and a great deal. Used with charcoal on century rag paper

I use the product to lay down on my wood panels before I apply oil paint. I have to say that I used another brand before I bought this Blick brand and I found that it was just too thick. Once I ran out of the other brand, I purchased this product and was very happy. It's not super thick and you can apply as many coats as you'd like. I also think it's a great deal, price wise. If you like really thick gesso, this isn't the product for you. This gesso is well-worth the money.

I got this product to save some money and I was disappointed. I did not like the way it mixed.. I stirred it and shook it and I did not like the way it went on the surface. It took several coats to cover the surface and not see through.

This gesso is a little too thick for my taste. I use it instead of titanium white acrylic paint and for that purpose it is very good. As a gesso it doesn't provide a very smooth surface - even after thinning it leaves brush lines. Nevertheless for general purposes it is fine. I have compared this gesso to other expensive brands in terms of opacity and covering strength and this gesso is just as good. This brand is quite inexpensive and overall a very good value.

I never used Gesso before using the Blick brand so I don't have anything to compare it to. That said, this gesso applies nice and smoothly. Water can be added to thin it out if you've left it standing out causing it to thicken.

Dick Blick Gesso is a great value. I first used the pint size bottle and was able to complete 5 boxes (I do "box art"), even applying numerous coats on each, all just with that one pint.
