How to Screen Print with Speedball Flex Ink

Using Speedball Craft Vinyl Screen Printing Kits and Speedball Flex Inks, artist Jennifer Sanderson demonstrates how to create vibrant, stretchable designs that (almost) outlast your t-shirt!

Instructions

  1. Use your vinyl cutting machine to cut your desired design on vinyl.

  2. Remove the portions of your vinyl design where you want the ink to go through.

  3. Apply your vinyl design to the back of the screen printing frame with transfer tape.

  4. Use painter’s tape to cover any open areas of the screen.

  5. Add a few tablespoons of Speedball Flex Screen Printing Fabric Ink along the top of the screen.

  6. Placing your squeegee behind the ink, pull it toward you with a good amount of pressure. Repeat the process 2–3 times.

  7. Lift up the screen to reveal your printed design.

  8. Let the ink air dry completely. Heat press for 2 minutes at 350 degrees or iron for 2 minutes.
