Love this ink!
I use this primarily in mixed media works on paper, along with liquid acrylics, pastels, and a variety of other inks and acrylics. I don't know if it is "best in its category" as I have not tried all of the other, and many pricier, inks. This ink does exactly what I want it to do.
Asallways i was not disappointed

Everything is perfect this ink does exactly what it should, love it! The service is phenomenal I had an issue with ordering and they fixed it immediately!
from Dallas, Texas
We use Sumi Ink in our Script classes and on projects. Sumi is the perfect ink for addressing client's envelopes or lettering calligraphy jobs. A very dense, black ink.

The best and the worst
The carrier delivering left the product left it on the stoop in the rain and it was soaked. A plastic bag would have helped a lot !!! Fortunately the products I had ordered were not paper!

Fine alternative "Ground" InkStick
By Bamboo Lover
from Stockton, CA
For introductory classes in Chinese Brush Painting (or Japanese Sumi-E), it is more financially feasible to have "liquid ink" on the supplies list to keep costs lower than require that students purchase an ink stick and an ink grinding stone. The Yasuomo liquid Sumi ink in the rectangular bottle has no shellac, and may be safer for people who have allergies/sensitivities to odorous chemicals. Otherwise, the same brand in the green round bottle contains a touch of shellac. I like both varieties.

An excellent ink wash ink
By Jon R
from Vashon Island, WA
This ink allows for a gradual build up of washes, because when dry it is insoluble to over painting unlike watercolor or soluble ink layers where every subsequent layer dissolves or mixes with earlier layers.
