Unrivalled in brilliance, Winsor & Newton Professional Acrylics are made with the highest quality, maximum-strength pigments to ensure clean, strong colors with wonderful working properties. Their revolutionary transparent binder virtually eliminates color shift from wet to dry, eliminating guesswork and letting acrylic painters make the most of spontaneous, direct painting techniques.
Brilliance (defined as the richness, intensity, and depth of a color) is possibly the most important quality to look for in an acrylic paint. Winsor & Newton Professional Acrylics are unsurpassed in this regard. This becomes evident when you apply these colors straight from tube to canvas, as well when executing thin films and glazes. Even the earth tones, blacks, and whites are clean and never dull.
Each individual color In the Professional Acrylic line uses the maximum amount of pigment possible — without extenders — to produce a brilliant paint with the broadest handling properties and outstanding color-mixing capabilities.
Winsor & Newton's expertise in resin technology has resulted in a unique binder that is translucent when wet and dries clear — ensuring virtually no shift in color, and colors that remain as brilliant when dry as they are when wet. The result is a range that allows artists to match colors more easily from palette to canvas and see a painting as it will actually look when finished.
Tubes are available in 60 ml and 200 ml sizes. 237 ml jars are also available.
Color Chart Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.

I only paint with acrylics and I find that winsor & newton is right @ the top of the line. The pigment of the paint color, the flow of the paint is just what I want in a acrylic .

Comments about Winsor & Newton Artists’ Acrylics Sets:
A great little set.

I used to love this paint. The color vibrancy and selection is fantastic, and the paint used to be nice and thick, "buttery" like good oil paint. But after 2016 the quality has changed. The paint is thinner, and for some reason the paint started stinking like it was fermented, like bacteria was growing in it. I contacted Blick and they sent me new paint a couple of times, but they all still smelled bad. Blick is a great company, but they can't do anything about WN's quality.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Thank you for you candid feedback. Please know that we've been looking into this issue, as has Winsor & Newton. Although we haven't been able to pin down the smell you describe (other than a smell typical of acrylic), we understand that we all have unique sensitivities. Since you've continued to order this paint, we assume it still meets your needs. If we can be of further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask!
