These strong, resilient brushes were specifically designed for use with acrylic paints. They are particularly matched to the Winsor & Newton Galeria Acrylic line. Their unique mix of synthetic filaments provides perfect control for thicker application of color while still retaining their shape.
The short-handled brushes have a softer head for glazing or watercolor-style painting with soft body acrylics, while the long-handled styles are made from stiffer filaments, allowing thicker application on tougher surfaces.
Bright and Flat — A Bright is a short flat brush that absorbs less color and has a stiffer stroke. A Flat is longer than a Bright and is consequently more flexible at the tip.
Brush sizes — The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.
Long and Short Handles — Long handles are recommended for easel style painting, while short handles are recommended for table-top painting where the artwork lies flat, especially with water media.
Shipping Note — Due to manufacturer distribution restrictions, Winsor & Newton products cannot be shipped to addresses outside of North America.

Very nice stiffer brushes.
from St. Peters MO
Comments about Winsor & Newton Winsor & Newton Galeria Round:
I have been collecting a variety of styles & sizes of the Galeria brushes. They are a synthetic brush with a hog bristle characteristic. Most synthetic hog bristle brushes leave a lot to be desired & are not near as stiff as the brush they are supposed to be imitating. I normally like a bit softer brush but for a hog bristle substitute I think these are the BEST. For areas of texture, such as tree leaves, I really like these & highly recommend them.

I really like these brushes - they hold up well with my Water soluble oils and stay true to shape. I use them primarily for the finishing work on my alla prima oil paintings.

Really good brush

Comments about Winsor & Newton Galeria Filbert:
I'm learning how to use Acrylic paint, and was having a problem blending backgrounds when using a flat brush. The problem was that I was getting a mark where ever I placed the brush. Someone suggested that I use a filbert to do the blending, and third brush is great for that purpose.
good for acrylic (and watercolor, too)

Comments about Winsor & Newton Galeria Round:
I like firm brushes- even when working in watercolor- and these are great. They hold their shape nicely, and make detail/line work so much easier than using a softer brush. I tend to be heavy with my brushes (a delicate touch, I am not...) and these Galeria's are holding up nicely. The only issue I have is a slight fraying at the very tip of the brush after several uses, even after using brush cleaner and conditioner after every use. We'll see how they hold up over the long run. But for now, these are my go-to brushes.
I would buy these brushes again

I use these brushes for acrylic painting and for lighter work in oil paint. They work well for both
Quality and great price

Comments about Winsor & Newton Galeria Flat:
I really like the value to quality of this line of paint brushes. DB prices were the best, I shopped around to get the best price. I like the firmness of the bristle, the snap, not loose or too softness of the bristle. The handles are long enough, good balance. I am happy with them, I have used them about 2 weeks now, and am going to purchase more in this line.
My Favorite Brushes
By Amanda the Artist
from Plano, TX
These are my absolute favorite brushes to use with my oil paints, even though they are technically for acrylic. They are soft but also have a good bounce to them, and they are a really good deal for the quality. Overall, a really good brush for the money.
Good brushes, good price.
from Strong, ME
These are good brushes and work great. They are a very good value, if you don't want to spend more one the bore brislte ones. I will be getting more in the future.
These are good brushes, if you are not going with bore bristle ones. I will be buying more of them.
