Van Gogh Oil Colors have been developed for artists who are searching for quality and exceptional value.
These pure-pigment paints are particularly easy to mix and work with because all colors in the range have virtually the same degree of gloss and viscosity, and require about the same amount of time to dry. With good to excellent lightfastness, the colors remain powerful and brilliant over time.

Fantastic for the price
Comments about Van Gogh Oil Colors:
For the price of student grade paint, these have a very satisfying pigment load and texture. For example, the Cobalt Blue is genuine and has a decent amount of pigment. I also bought Permalba Cobalt Blue genuine, approximately the same price, and I feel that the Van Gogh is quite superior. For the price, these are really nice oils.

Very nice, buttery oil paints
from Chicago, IL
I love the buttery, non-sticky texture of these oil paints. I tried the titanium white first and liked it. These next two colors (ultramarine blue and burnt umber) are also great.
Very unusual rich color

This color is not produced by any other company that I can find. Most stores are not handling several different oil paint brands, so Blick is the only place I can get it.
I would definitely buy this next time!
from San Mateo, CA
I just used it for my painting class. The oil paints works very well. Enjoyed it with my painting.
VG titanium white is great, light and non-sticky
Taking a plein air class, the teacher recommended VG titanium white - this is great stuff. The type I was using was good but very sticky. This is more buttery and loose.

I'm not giving this brand of paint five stars for one specific reason, and it has nothing to do with its quality. Of the quality I will say that I think this is the best student-grade paint you can buy for most styles of painting. It doesn't feel like student-grade paint at all. The colors are vibrant and there is a nice range of them. The pigment load seems heavier than most others in its category, and the consistency is smooth and creamy. The Van Gogh brand is an awesome one, and I would give it the fifth star if the line contained all of the colors I use on my palette. I know it's a seemingly trivial matter, but there are at least three or four colors I like to use that are not present in the lineup. If you care to know what they are, here is a listing:First is a pure Titanium White (PW6 only). Despite the fact that there are both Titanium White and Zinc White tubes in the range, both contain Zinc Oxide PW4. The second color I'm missing here is Cadmium Yellow Lemon. There is an Azo Yellow Lemon, but I simply prefer the Cadmium. I'm not too fond of the Cadmium Yellow Deep containing PO20 either, but that is a minor gripe. At least PO20 is Cadmium Orange, which is something I might use along with the yellow anyway.Next is a pure Quinacridone Magenta PR122 and Manganese Violet PV16. These are two colors I love to use to fill in gaps in a limited palette and I can't help but notice their absence from the range. Of course, I can always grab the Rembrandt Permanent Blue Violet to satisfy my craving for PV16, but the magenta is still missing from that line as well. The closest thing to it is Permanent Red Violet. Finally, there is the matter of Alizarin Crimson. The biggest drawback to the Van Gogh range could be that it has no permanent substitute for PR83, so you have to use it or bring in a tube from another brand. Madder Lake Deep, Madder Lake Light, and Carmine all contain PR83 as well, so there isn't much of a choice. My palette aside, this is great paint.
This product offers colors that are strong in pigment for a reasonable price. Creamy consistency.Offers colors that are expensive in other product lines for a reasonable price.
I enjoyed these!

Best for a student
from Brooklyn, NY
This is high quality student grade paint. Price is unbeatable, so you may mix, experiment and do not worry about quantities you throw away. Best to get used to simple pigments. Earth colors are amazing. Cadmiums quite weak but it's ok. Very good to paint in middle and low intensity keys. If you are learning and on a budget and work a lot it's your choice. You can paint a painting with this paint. Definitely.
Van Gogh Oil Colors are a traditional oil paint formulated with the beginning painter and value conscious customer in mind. A quality paint that won't break the bank. See why this paint is a smart choice!
