Welcome to dickblick
For centuries, painters have used rabbit skin glue to protect raw canvas fibers and panels from the disintegrating effects of fatty acids in oil-based colors and grounds. Handcrafted in Brooklyn, New York, Utrecht Rabbit Skin Glue is a top-quality, traditional canvas and panel sizing that exhibits excellent adhesion and barrier properties.
A flexible glue, Utrecht Rabbit Skin Glue dries with relatively little tension, but may swell when humidity increases and shrink when humidity decreases. Please note that over time, fluctuations due to atmospheric changes can cause cracking, but is less of a problem in controlled environments and is considered by some to be part of the charm of traditional oil painting.
Utrecht Rabbit Skin Glue is sold in a 1 lb bag of dried granules, along with complete instructions for preparation and use. One package covers approximately 18 square feet.

VERY nice Glue Size
By Alphonse De Fleur
from Berwyn, Pa
I have been using this sizing for perhaps over 15 years. I have never had a problem with it. It has always preformed as expected and done what I have wanted. I should say, I consider myself a master at this type of solution for a barrier for Linen or Cotton. However it is not what I use it for, I create my own hand made Gesso and apply it to Birch Panels, I sell the Panels and I also paint directly on them. If you know what you are doing you need not purchase a higher priced product. This product gets the job done and reacts the same way each time.

Its Rabbit Skin Glue
I've used the Utrecht and the Gamblin Rabbit Skin Glue and both seem to perform the same. I do not know how either one holds up over 10's of years but both mixed well with marble dust for gessoing. I don't think you can go wrong with either brand.
