Utrecht NOOD Odorless Paint Thinner is a pure, odorless, slow-evaporating thinner for artists’ oil colors and oil mediums. A safer alternative to turpentine and other conventional solvents, NOOD (short for “no odor”) is ideal for those sensitive to strong odors and for artists working in small, well-ventilated indoor spaces. Evaporation is very slow, allowing for longer periods of paint manipulation, less waste, and reduced exposure during painting sessions. 

NOOD is strong enough to dilute alkyds and can be used in combination with linseed, safflower, walnut, and poppy oil mediums. It is also excellent for use as a brush cleaner.

It is derived from seeds of the flax plant. Mix it with oil colors to give them a more transparent, fluid consistency and extend their drying time (useful for  wet-in-wet  techniques).
