Printmaking is a growing art form that is attracting a wide variety of artists. Strathmore Printmaking Papers were born out of a unique collaboration between Strathmore Artist Papers and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Art and science converged as talented minds within science, engineering, and the arts teamed up to create a high-quality, innovative line of printmaking papers to meet the full range of needs, from beginners to professionals.
This heavyweight natural white paper is ideally suited for printmaking processes that require a heavier paper such as lithography, intaglio, screen printing, and relief printing. Its medium-texture surface is soft, durable, and can absorb large amounts of ink. It has a high alpha-cellulose wood fiber content. Choose pads in ready-to-frame sizes or full-size sheets.[p>
The natural white papers are strong and durable, yet soft enough to absorb many layers of ink. Strathmore Printmaking Papers are acid-free.
Made in the USA.

Comments about Strathmore 400 Series Printmaking Paper:
Its hard to get good paper for a reasonable price. This paper meet my needs. I use it for printing (silk and block). I use it for drawing and sketching. I have even used this for watercolor (although, I would not recommend it for lots of water - I don't think it would hold up for heavy watercolor). Its off-white color is gentle and consistent. I'm still looking but for now this is a reasonably priced "nice" paper.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is the paper my son's teacher recommended for his silk screen class and it is exactly what was needed. Works Fantastic.

great pads for the price.
Good value - great for students

I originally bought it to use for proofs in an intaglio class, but it came out looking very good so I submitted the prints (mezzotint) for credit. I soaked it for about half an hour or more, and it stood up fine. The cost is a little more than half that of the intaglio paper sold at the college bookstore so even using it for proofs would be a big savings. I don't know how it would work for a more detailed print.
Beautiful texture, and very thick cotton-like
I was not sure which paper to get, this is fabulous!!! It can even be soaked or dry to run prints!!

I purchased this for intaglio (zinc plate) prints and was leery at first because of the price but it worked beautifully. It was the correct thickness, held together well and printed very nicely.
