Printmaking is a growing art form that is attracting a wide variety of artists. Strathmore Printmaking Papers were born out of a unique collaboration between Strathmore Artist Papers and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Art and science converged as talented minds within science, engineering, and the arts teamed up to create a high-quality, innovative line of printmaking papers to meet the full range of needs, from beginners to professionals.
This lightweight natural white paper is ideally suited for relief printing (such as block or linocut), plus practicing and proofing. Its medium-texture surface is soft, durable, and can absorb large amounts of ink. It has a high alpha-cellulose wood content. The pads feature easy-to-use flip-over covers that allow the sheets to tear out cleanly. 120 gsm.
The natural white papers are strong and durable, yet soft enough to absorb many layers of ink. Available in convenient sizes and formats, including pads and large sheets, Strathmore Printmaking Papers are acid-free.

The paper is a little brittle for collographs.

Comments about Strathmore 300 Series Printmaking Paper:
This paper is a little brittle for working on uneven, collaged surfaces. But it is a nice white and not costly.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great for gel plate printing!
from Chico, CA
The Strathmore Series 300 Printmaking paper is a good paper for monotypes and general printmaking. It has a medium surface. I use the 8"x10" size paper (tablet has 40 sheets) with the 5"x5" Speedball Gel Plate when printing monotypes. The paper from tablet is a good size (will also work with the 5"x7" Speedball Gel Plate) and requires no additional cutting. The price for these printmaking paper tablets is excellent.
Just what I needed for my printmaking class.

This product was perfect for my class, but I wish there was more pages in the pad.

An Excellent Non 100 percent cotton paper
from Brooklyn, NY
This paper works beautifully for my printmaking, is archival, and the price is excellent.
Very good printmaking papers
from Sun City, AZ
I have used these padded printmaking papers for both intaglio and relief and find them to work well at a reasonable price. My work is for my own creative satisfaction, and my focus is on my print, and I could care less whether the paper has a rough torn edge or a smooth cut edge. So I think these new Strathmore printmaking padded papers are super. I also like the 400 series pads.
