Great paper but it came damaged
This is great paper for the price with many different uses; but it came damaged. Had this not come with the damage this would have been 5 stars. There is nothing wrong with the paper in the pad except that it arrived damaged.
This is my favorite paper for colored pencil.

Love this paper!!!!
from Lebanon, TN
I had never used this kind of paper before so I thought I would give it a try. Wow, am I ever glad I did! I have been using it to do colored pencil work and it's perfect. It has just the right amount of tooth and it can accept many layers of color easily. It is sturdy enough to withstand heavy burnishing also. I also do pen and ink work but have not had an opportunity to try it on this surface yet but based on what I've seen so far, I expect it to work well for that media as well.

I switched from the darker Kraft Paper that Stonehenge makes to this multi-colored selection of papers to do my next pet portrait. I was a little disappointed that the colors were not a bit more intense- it's easier to see the light colors show up in my drawings that way. But I do really like the subtle texture or tooth of this paper. It really helps make those fine details and adds to the interest of the natural textures that just come along- but don't overcome the drawing. I will definitely explore the use more with other colors.
Good for general purpose use

SH paper had been recommended to me as a good substitute for Strathmore paper as it is less expensive. While I do believe it is good for rendering studies, general sketching and things like that, I personally find it is a little too smooth for my uses (graphite). Like anything, if you have the right expectations for it, it performs really well. If you are looking to replace good Bristol board with this, you will be disappointed.
Great for colored pencil

Used this paper for colored pencils, very lovely. Heavier paper with just the right amount of tooth.
