Speedball Linoleum Cutters are made of the finest quality steel with long lasting cutting edges.
Speedball Linoleum Cutters fit holders for standard Speedball lettering pen nibs. With firm printmaking materials such as linoleum, where a palm grip is needed, use them with the Speedball Linoleum Cutter Handle. With soft printmaking materials, a standard pen holder such as the Blick Pen Holder can be used.
Cutters are available in packages of 2 or boxes of 12. (Cutters cannot be assorted.)

almost impossible to switch out cutter tips
from crofton, MD
Comments about Speedball Linoleum Cutters:
the different tips don't fit in easily, and are hard to remove. I think some of mine are sized wrong/too big to be able to easily switch them out
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Highly recommended esp for beginners

Love using this product especially in carving small, fine details.. easy to use and love the idea that you can store the blades at the bottom of the tool.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Speedball Lino Set 2 a BIG disappointment
By In Love with Art
I was taking a printmaking course and bought these for cutting linoleum reliefs. The concept of having two handles, with a different cutting tool on each was appealing. The problem was that the tools did not seem to cut the linoleum, even after warming the linoleum. My teacher examined the tools and said that all of them were dull, although they were all brand new. Another student in the class had purchased the same set from another retailer and had exactly the same problem as I had. Clearly this is a problem with Speedo's quality control. DickBlick gave me a refund - they have wonderful customer service! I purchased Niji woodcutting tools ( which even includes a sharpening stone) and had no problem cutting my linoleum blocks, even without warming them. The Niji cutting tools were nice and sharp!
It is a good working tool
Excellent engraving work
Great starter tool set
Great starter gouge set. I know lots of people who use these tools as their main set. I recommend honing the blades frequently, the cheaper metal nicks easily. Would not recommend for use on wood.
Cutters Get Stuck
By 5/6th Grade Teacher
I have the Essdee lino cutters as well as the Speedball cutters, but the Speedball cutters get stuck after you've tightened them into the cutter. I've had to disassemble the cutter completely and use a hammer and punch to get the ball to drop to release the cutter. This has not been helpful for use in a classroom either!

these work great

I really think my kids eat these, but seriously they are strong and should last years. Now if they would quit trying to work on their prints at home...........sigh
sharp blades are a must for cutting linoleum
from Metrowest Boston, MA
Regarding price, I don't know of a competitive brand but these seem reasonably priced. I like the disposable blades so I can always have a sharp one. This is kind of like reviewing #11 Xacto blades. They do what they're supposed to do; I go through a lot of them so I like to buy in bulk.
from Deland, FL
This tool is perfect! All five blades are sharp and click into the handle easily. I use mine on soft-kut print blocks and it makes it so was to carve.
totally satisfied with my purchase!
from Columbus Nebraska
The cutters work great for printmaking and are comfortable to use! Great buy and awesome tools!
