Can't say I'm happy
By Too many brushes
from Houston, Texas
Comments about Silver Brush Renaissance Red Sable Long Handle Cat's Tongue Series 7110:
Can't say I'm happy because after less than a day, it's already starting to splay with stray hairs trailing tails in my brush strokes on an ultra smooth canvas. I'm pretty sure I haven't misused it or anything. Disappointed. :(
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

not bright more like a flat
Comments about Silver Brush Renaissance Red Sable Long Handle Bright Series 7102:
The bristles are very long. I would not call this a bright. I haven't used it because it is not what I wanted was looking for a nice 1/8" bright with spring to the bristles.

Comments about Silver Brush Renaissance Red Sable Long Handle Brushes:
I particularly like the Cat's tongue brushes. They are fantastic for portrait painting in oils.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments about Silver Brush Renaissance Red Sable Short Handle Brushes:
This was my first purchase of Red Sable brushes. I have other types, but wanted to try these as I learned from other reviews that they had good spring, something I wanted for certain types of paintings. They didn't disappoint! I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Flat is faulty
from Fort Smith, arkansas
The flat's top was uneven, delivered a "Blob" rather than a clean line when used to dab the top of the brush on paper. No real control to make "windows"( i.e. it did not make good sharp edges). Brush was not "tight" when put in water. This was the 1/4 brush. Won't go with this brand ever again!

I use with acrylics
from North carolina
I use red sable for dry brush and blending with acrylics. I loved the discontinued Blick masterstroke finest red sable. This brush, the silver renaissance pure reds sable, is the closest I can find. I have tried quite a few.
I like these brushes for scrubbing in. I think I prefer synthetic over-all, but of the bristle I have tried, these seem to retain their shape the best and have a decent bounce.

I love these brushes!
from Reno, NV
I used to paint only with bristle brushes and I wanted to achieve a softer finished look. I just introduced this line of brushes to my plein air oil painting and they are a pleasure to work with. They lay down paint beautifully over my transparent underpainting and don't disturb the lower paint and create the look I was desiring. I'll be getting every size available!!!
from Lenoir City, TN
The red sable brushes allow for a very delicate stroke. You can be confident that every stoke of oil paint lays down exactly as you want it.
