I would buy this product again and again and recommend it
from Bar Nunn, WY
Comments about Scratch-Art Scratchboard:
this product makes a very clean work of art. as compared to other scratchboard materials that do not have the clay background it is the best I heave found. The other scratchboard with a clay layer is in a totally different category and gives a different end result. Depending on the art subject I would use the first product more often than the second one. It is a lot more cost effective and easier to work with. I have found the clayboard covered with ink tends to have a very dry hard ink surface that can be difficult to scratch and can chip more easily than the paper without the clay layer. The paper product is also a lot more white in the background after being scratched giving the art a better contrast between black and white and making all the grey tones in between easier to see.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I was very disappointed. I expected this to be a board.
By High School Teacher
I was expecting a clay board from the description. It was falsely advertised and is just scratch paper. Do not buy this product if you are expecting a scratch "board".
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This scratchboard has a nice weight & coating. A good alternative between the thinner classroom scratchboard & the more expensive professional grade.

I bought these for my High School Art class, and they have worked perfectly. You get a nice scratch and very easy for the students to use.
Inexpensive scratch art paper
from Cumberland Maryland
This scratch art paper is not the best but far from the worst. Some came with some of the ink scratched off. Two packages and both came the same way. Great for practice or for children. Very inexpensive in comparison with the ampersand. Quality - there is no comparison with ampersand. Good for what it was purchased for. Practice.

I have used this type of product before in my classroom and usually love it. Maybe just a bad batch but it would not scratch/scrap off. We tried the sticks I purchased which didn't even penetrate the coating. We used tack pins, paper clips, anything hard we could find and it was just difficult. A screwdriver worked and the pins for tiny lines.Students were frustrated and I was too. Will be returning this item along with the sticks.
Merchant response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with this scratch board. These boards do require sharper implements than wood sticks, but we also offer the Scratch Art Paper that the sticks will work with.
