Cobra Study Water Mixable Oil Colors offer students, beginners, and professionals on a budget an affordable way to experience the quality and convenience of Cobra Water Mixable Oils.
Cobra Study Oils can be applied using all the usual oil painting techniques, yet they require no solvents and clean up with soap and water. They perform in the same way as traditional oil paints, and provide great results with a uniform drying time. Rated with the highest degree of lightfastness, colors will remain unchanged for at least 100 years under museum conditions.
Cobra Study Oils are fully compatible with Cobra Oil Painting Mediums and professional-grade Cobra Oils. Cobra Study Oils are a student version of the popular Cobra Water Mixable Oil Colors, providing the same brilliant colors but with lower tinting strength and pigment concentrations. Each Study Color has a corresponding color in Cobra's professional color range.

Comments about Royal Talens Cobra Study Water Mixable Oil Colors:
It is hard to find a good deal on the water mixable oil paints. I prefer them for teaching oil painting, and I am always looking for larger quantities at a good price.

My art teacher thinks this is a good product for water mixables.
Water mixable oils good for classroom
from Glenwood Springs CO
Accidently bought these instead of regular oil for my classroom a few years ago. Love the clean up aspect and lower toxicity for high school. Wish some of the more conventional pigment names were available such as Alizarin Crimson in order to line up with conventional names. That said some are available in this line as well. Have found that they are a bit translucent.
Good solid paint

The Royal Talens Cobra Study Water Mixable Oil Colors are a good buy. I usually use Duo Aqua Oils as they are very thick and last a long time. The Talens is a bit looser but I've found it to be a good quality paint. The colors are bright and what I'd want in a top quality paint. I like the lower prices too. #sweepstakes
COBRA one of my faves
By Elizabeth Elgin
from Washington DC Suburbs
I paint in both acrylics and WM Oils, due to their non-toxic nature. I find Holbein Duo Aqua and COBRA my faves due to their buttery-ness. COBRA is a great value. I do not like W&N as they get sticky fast. Their regular oils are great but not their WM oils.

smooth and nice to work with
from New Zealand
A bit of oil was leaking from the tube when they arrived and when I first use them. I have changed over from Artisan as these Cobras are more in my price range. They feel a bit thinner than artisan, but are smoother as artisan always had some hard bits in them. I think I will quickly adjust to Cobras and I think I will like them very much when I get use to the thinner texture.
great quality for student grade

this was creamier out of the tube than other water miscible oils, which I like. Very good for a student grade paint.
This is a excellent Titanium White. Compared to other Water Miscible Oils I have used this one is creamier right out of the tube which I like. Feels more like a traditional oil paint. For a study version its very good.

I love this paint and the price. The only thing I would change is the cap. The cap is orange so it's confusing sometime when I go look for my "green" paint. Otherwise a very solid product. Very happy.
I love this product so far just started using a thumbs up !

I was blessed to do a workshop with a Disney artist and he introduced me to the cobra paints, the ones I had brought to paint with were also oil base water-soluble but they were so thick and hard to get out of the tube they were terrible to work with. When I tried his it was like room temperature butter, the paint was so easy to work with. I've been painting for over 40 years so thanks Dick Blick, others places I tried didn't carry them.
