Machine-made of 100% cotton, Rising Museum Boards are acid-free, neutral pH, and buffered with calcium carbonate for added protection, with a color that is solid throughout and will not fade, scuff, or bleed. Stunning product, and incredible service from DIck Blick!

Comments about Rising Museum Board:
I've been painting (watermedia and airbrush) bird illustrations on Rising Museum Board for some time, but have only just "graduated" to the 8 ply thickness. It's a superb surface for both watercolour, gouache AND airbrush. I use an incredibly fine 000 brush, and this surface, being fine-textured, picks up all the minute details. Best of all, due to the thickness, no stretching is necessary! It won't warp, and due to the incredible archival qualities, I can have every confidence that my paintings (that take often longer than 100 hours to finish) will last for generations. I've attached an image of a recent work below.It won't handle a large wash of watercolour, as the paint will sink in fairly quickly, so for large areas of solid colour, I use the airbrush. Masking film won't delaminate the surface, but be wary of using liquid mask. If it's left on the board too long, it will be difficult to remove.Polar White is the colour I would recommend. It's the whitest in the range. Now...I did a bit of shopping around for this product. I live in Australia. The price offered on this website is BY FAR the best. For three sheets, plus postage, was (wait for it) $550AUD CHEAPER than a retailer in Australia!Dick Blick's postage was also about $250AUD cheaper than a similar site in the USA.So I need look no further. Thanks so much!

Black Museum Board is not color fast

I used the black color board for double matts so this put the black sheet against the print. A month or so later I looked at the print and discovered the black of the matte had colored the edges of the prints. These prints are on mat paper and have been coated with varnish to protect the prints. This is very discouraging since I purchased the best quality matts so I would not have issues with the mounting!

Beautiful mat for photographic prints

This mat was recommended by a nationally renowned photographer, whose work appears in the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite National Park. The 4-ply, WHITE is a beautiful cream/warm color, with a slightly greater thickness than other brand's 4-ply mats. Also has a fine uniform texture. A classic look for your photographic prints!

Best Museum Board in he Market

I have been a Rising 4-ply and 8-ply museum board customer for several years now and this is the third Rising order that I have received from Blick. It arrived on time and was carefully packed to avoid cross country shipping damage to the corners as specified in my order which was pasted on the packaging. Gfeat product and a great reseller!
The gold standard for museum board

For mat display Rising mat board is consistent, uniform, and utterly predictable. It's easy to cut and always understated in the frame--nothing distracts from the artwork underneath. Selecting a mat board should be one decision that should not be worried. Rising satisfies all display requirements.
You won't get bord with this drawing surface

I was a little skeptical about purchasing Rising Museum Board for my drawing surface because I have never used it. As a Graphite, and colored pencil artist I primarily use Strathmore Bristol Board, and Stonehenge, but wanted to broaden my horizon, so-to-speak, in experiencing other drawing surfaces. I can honestly say I'm glad I did! If you haven't tried Rising Museum Board for your drawing experience I recommend you give it a try.

100% cotton rag board from Rising is the standard for museum framing. I use this board for all of my archival framing needs.
Quality and Color
I ordered the mat board to go with my etchings for a holiday show. I wanted the images to go together and chose Zinc. It was perfect and went with all the colors and brought out the image. I was tired of all white or light cream and I really like this look. I will order it again.

I ordered 10 full sheets of Rising Museum Board in white. This white has no color casts so it is the perfect mat for my photographs. Blick processed the order and sent it out within a few days with no extra charge for shipping. The box of mat board arrived without even a mushed corner because it was packed so well. Excellent product and excellent service.
Great for matting artwork

We frame our own artwork (water colors and photography) to save money.This archival quality Matboard is the best out there, and cuts cleanly using our mat cutter to produce beveled edges.The 32" x 40" is perfect for cutting 4 16" x 20" mats.Because the previous two orders arrived with dented corners, however, I let them know this when reordering, requesting thatthey use extra cardboard to protect the corners during shipment.They did, so we can get 4 mats instead of only 3 from each piece!Suggest you request the same when ordering.
