Use this heavy-duty white plastic tray to keep paints and craft projects under control. It's ideal for paints, soaking or marbling paper, or as a base for clay projects. The curved edges are also great for keeping beads and puzzle pieces contained.

Comments about Richeson Heavy-Duty Art Tray:
These trays are the most used item in my studio. I sort paper and found materials for collages, make acrylic skins, use as a drip pan for fluid painting and so many other uses
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Large tray is great, small tray...not so much.
from Nashville, TN
The large tray is very nice. It's a good size and acrylic paint comes off very easily. I thought the small tray was going to be just like the large one, only smaller. But it's a different shape and has a checker board patterned surface that is impossible to clean. Now mine is stained with acrylic color. I think I will put it in the recycling bin :(If you want it for something other than acrylic paint, it would probably be fine.

The surface is quite cleanable, but the tray is a bit flimsy.

I do like these trays. They're a good size and fairly sturdy for as lightweight as they are. My only complaint is some pigments may leave a stain, but other than that they perform as expected.
Better than I expected
from New York, NY
I bought the Messy Tray in both sizes for my 21-month old granddaughter, even though someone had reviewed it as flimsy and easily broken. When my own children were little, we had a similar tray, which was of thinner, more fragile plastic and nevertheless lasted us for years, keeping the worst of their messes from painting, dirt play and cooking efforts fairly well confined. When the kids got older, the tray prevented small Lego pieces from scattering too far. But the thin plastic tray eventually cracked. I searched every toy store to replace this tray and could not find anything similar. The Blick Messy Trays turn out to be significantly more sturdy, the plastic is thicker and messes wash off easily. The trays arrived within the predicted time and were well wrapped. The tray could probably break if someone threw it forcefully, or it may never break, if someone used it as my children did and now my granddaughter does. My one wish: that Blick had a third, larger size, so that kids could keep larger puzzles or larger artistic creations in progress undisturbed on the tray.
glad to have them, I will need more for

We are using these for marbling for paper and fabric. I am so glad that they clean up well. We will need more. We just recently added a dye lab and it opens up all types of classes we can easily do. Karen Kitchen, NE Iowa Weavers & Spinners
