Superb spring, maximum brush stroke control, and a large color carrying capacity — all in a brush that's priced for value.
Raphaël Extra White Bristle brushes are exceptionally strong and long-wearing. They are crafted from interlocking, extra-white hog bristles that are carefully selected for superior quality based on their natural curve.
Each brush has a varnished, natural wooden handle with a seamless nickel ferrule.
Brush sizes — The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.

I ordered the small #2 fan brush. It is exactly what I was looking for. Excellent bristles with good stiffness and spring. Good overall balance. Pay attention to the size of the brush you are ordering. These brushes are measured in cm and are true to size. Bear in mind that a #2 from one company is not necessarily the same size as a #2 from another company.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Very nice brushes for a good price
from Athens, OH
Comments about Raphaël Extra White Bristle Flat:
These brushes are fantastic thus far for me. First off, I really love how Raphael brushes handles are made. They just feel perfectly balanced and something very nice about them. The hairs don't fall out, and these bristle brushes keep their spring very well. The only thing that I don't like about them, which isn't a big deal at all, is that their sizes run much smaller as opposed to most other brush brands. So for example, I ordered a #10 flat, and its about the size of a #6 flat in my other brushes. This is ok though, I will just have to keep this in mind and get them in larger sizes than I normally would. Great brushes, Raphael seems to be my favorite brand thus far.

Comments about Raphaël Extra White Bristle Filbert:
My last two sets of brushes have been Raphael and I couldn't ask for much more out of them. They have nice long handles and good quality bristles that don't tend to fall out or lose their shape. I use these for oil painting and have never had any real problems, so long as I make sure to clean them properly after each use. Robert Simmons Signet brushes are similar in terms of quality and price, for reference.

This is a pretty good brush. It has some issues but it's still pretty good. My 2 biggest complaints: there have been several brush hairs that come out and onto the painting(have to use a knife to pick them off the canvas), some of the brush hairs splay out in random directions sometimes. In spite of these issues I've still been able to make some really good paintings using a single brush bought from this model type.

Best quality bristle brushes I've used
By Jason A.
I've probably tried every brand of brush made except the cheap brands you'd never consider using if you're reading this (meaning hobby store brushes, etc). These are absolutely the best quality bristle brushes I've ever used. The main things I like: bristles don't splay out at odd angles, soft and nice feel (not like some expensive brands that have tough, coarse bristles that leave ugly marks in the paint), bristles don't shed like many brands, beautifully varnished and very well-balanced handles...and I even like the sound of the name 'Raphael'. Glad I discovered these, as I'd never heard of them until a few years ago.

Best Brushes I have found for the price
from Santa Barbara, CA
I paint everyday so I am going through brushes like mad. I have settled on these mostly because the flats and rounds are just a little bit longer then other brands. They have a perfect spring and carrying capacity through the first few sessions. They do seem to ware and dull as quick as the others. However, the extra length combined with washing them I can make them last a couple months.

This is my second review of the product. In my previous review I gave it 5 stars. One problem with these brushes is aparently a low quality handle. While recently using a #2 flat the brush had literaly snapped... Bristle qulaity seems great but handle is a problem. Hope that helps.

Own several brands and IMO this is the best bang for the buck. The brushes appears to be reliable, retain their shape very well, the bristles are springy and handling is great. Great deal.
