R&F Soy Wax is an excellent alternative to paraffin for cleaning encaustic brushes. It's easier to remove from bristles than paraffin wax, so after the encaustic color has been cleaned out of the brush, it can be washed with soap and water and reused with other mediums. 
  Made from partially hydrogenated soybean oil, R&F Soy Wax is non-toxic and naturally biodegradable. Soy beans are also a renewable resource, making soy wax a more responsible choice for environmentally conscious artists.
