Here's a Blick best seller at a great price! The Ebony Pencil has long been the artist's favorite for sketching, drawing, and layout, with its thick, black, satiny-smooth graphite lead.

My favorite pencil for years and years!
from Upstate New York...north of Hudson.
Comments about Prismacolor Ebony Pencil:
My favorite drawing pencil for years...ever since it was the Eagle ChemiSeal. Soft, buttery and velvety deep black; it holds a point well and is not fragile so you don't have to be delicate as you use and store them.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The artists love this product
The artists say the flow of these pencils is smooth and easy to work with.
I would buy this product again.

I use these ebony pencils in my fiber sculptural workshops to help students loosen up with drawings of free non-objective objects before beginning work with wire.
Like the Pencil, hate that it breaks easily

Love the smoothness and variability of this graphite, unfortunately if dropped, or tapped as students will do the lead breaks inside the wood making sharpening impossible.

I've used these pencils as both as artist and in my classroom as a teacher.
from Upstate NY
These pencils have become a go-to for me. The texture of the graphite feels similar to a hard charcoal, and you can get very solid, glossy darks. They have a great range of value (even into lights) and can be sharpened to a long tapering point for broad marks on the side and a fine line tip. Good versatility. One draw back: if they're dropped there's a good chance you'll have multiple fractures along the length of the core, which can be pretty frustrating and sometimes ruins a pencil in a single shot. Overall a solid pencil.

Prismacoior Ebony pencils - I think they're great.
By Colleen Gee
from Ripon, CA
I have bought the Sanford Ebony pencils and the Prismacolor Ebony pencils for a long time and have found that the Prismacolor Ebony pencils are just as good as the Sanford, using the range of this pencil to achieve a light light gray to the darkest black is perfect with this pencil, I have and a couple if pencils where the leads were broken in the case, but that is all. Using a sharp pencil sharpener is the key. Get a good electric pencil sharpener if you can.

If you drop them the graphite inside the wood can break- can they be made with a square wood to avoid rolling off the table?
