Midwest Products Genuine Balsa Wood is ideal for creating models, doll houses, crafts, and so much more. The premier wood for modeling projects, these balsa wood pieces are dried in special kilns to reduce their water content, giving you a lightweight wood with high strength-to-weight ratio. They can be easily cut with a hobby knife and stained or painted to resemble any other type of wood.

This kit includes everything you need to create a 3/4" scale model of a one-bedroom A-Frame Cabin with a bathroom, kitchen, living room, spiral staircase, and loft. 

Those who build this kit will learn unconventional framing in accordance with accepted building codes. The foot pad measures 1-1/2 ft x 2 ft (46 cm x 61 cm). One kit is included per pack.

The kit includes micro-cut quality balsa wood, cutting tools, measuring tape, nails, glue, custom miter fixture, instruction booklet, 6 working drawings, and the work base that doubles as a foundation for the completed model.

These convenient class packs contain enough materials for 24&nbsp;students to build and test a wooden bridge. Bridge building is a popular competitive activity in middle and high school classrooms that challenges students to design and construct a wooden bridge, calculate its efficiency, then select the best design. (Some engage in destruction testing afterwards!)   This activity supports a variety of curricula, including geometry, physics, technology education, math, and general science. In addition to classroom competition, there are numerous state and nationwide bridge building competitions held annually that offer recognition and awards.

These class packs contain materials for 24 students to build and test a wooden bridge. Bridge building is a popular classroom activity, challenging students to design and construct a bridge, calculate its efficiency, and select the best design.

Made of domestic wood cut in northern Michigan and Wisconsin, this basswood is valued for its economy, workability, and finishing qualities. Because of its close, homogeneous grain structure, it is ideal for a wide variety of hobby, craft, and miniature projects. 

Thin pieces of basswood can be cut with a hobby knife, while thicker pieces require a saw for cutting. Basswood can be stained or painted to represent any wood type.

This activity teaches the fundamentals of sound wood framing and house construction in accordance with accepted building codes.

Two-Story Townhouse Kit - Completed framed Townhouse shown at angle

This &frac34;&quot; scale, two-story townhouse framing kit is framed in accordance with accepted building codes and teaches the fundamentals of sound wood-frame  construction. It combines conventionally framed walls with balloon-framed walls (with a vaulted ceiling), and the roof is framed with a combination of trusses and conventional rafters. Second-story construction includes the use of floor joists and sub-floor sheathing.

The foot pad measures 1-1/2" x 2 ft (4 cm x 61 cm). One kit is included per pack.
